Corona Virus - A Pandemic?

My story of Corona Virus

By Abdul MohizPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

I was a sophomore in college when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I was living in a dorm on campus, and I remember the day that the lockdown was announced very vividly.

I was in my room, studying for a test, when I got a notification on my phone. It was an email from my university, announcing that all classes would be moving online and that students were being asked to return home. I was shocked. I couldn't believe that this was happening.

I immediately packed up my things and headed home. The drive was long and quiet. I didn't know what to expect when I got home. Would my family be okay? Would I be able to finish my classes?

When I got home, my family was relieved to see me. We spent the next few weeks trying to adjust to the new normal. We were all working from home, and we were only allowed to go out for essential activities.

It was a difficult time. We were all stressed and anxious. We missed our friends, and we didn't know when things would go back to normal.

But slowly, things started to get better. The vaccine was developed, and people started to get vaccinated. The number of cases started to decline, and restrictions started to be lifted.

By the summer of 2021, things were starting to feel like they were getting back to normal. I was able to go back to school in person, and I was able to see my friends again.

It's been two years since the pandemic started, and I've learned a lot. I've learned the importance of social distancing, hand-washing, and wearing masks. I've also learned the importance of staying informed and following the advice of public health officials.

As we move forward, it's important that we remember what we've learned. We need to continue to take precautions to protect ourselves and others from COVID-19. We also need to be patient and understanding as we work to rebuild our lives.

Here are some additional details about my experience during the pandemic:

  1. My parents were both essential workers, so they were still going to work during the lockdown. This meant that I had to take on more responsibility around the house, such as cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my younger siblings.
  2. My friends were all scattered around the country, so I didn't get to see them in person very often. We would stay in touch through video calls and online games.
  3. My classes were moved online, which was a challenge for me. I had to learn how to manage my time and stay motivated without the structure of a traditional classroom.
  4. I was worried about getting sick with COVID-19. I knew that the virus could be serious, and I didn't want to put my family at risk.
  5. I was also worried about the impact of the pandemic on my education and my future. I didn't know how the pandemic would affect my classes, my grades, or my job prospects.
  6. Despite all of the challenges, I was able to get through the pandemic. I graduated from college, got a job, and moved into my own apartment. I am still friends with my college friends, and we make an effort to see each other in person as often as possible. I am grateful for the support of my family and friends, and I am hopeful for the future.

Here are some additional thoughts on the pandemic:

  1. The pandemic has been a difficult time for everyone, but it has also been a time of great resilience and strength. People have come together to help each other, and we have learned a lot about ourselves and our communities.
  2. The pandemic has also highlighted the importance of public health. We need to continue to take precautions to protect ourselves and others from COVID-19, and we need to be prepared for future pandemics.
  3. The pandemic has also shown us the importance of social connection. We need to stay connected with our friends and family, and we need to find ways to build community.

I believe that we will get through this pandemic. We are stronger than we think.
