CHAPTER 1: The First Collision

Lena Stewart was a force of nature.

Her heels clicked like gunfire across the marble floors of Blackwell & Co, the kind of stride that dared anyone to get in her way. Today was the pitch. Her pitch. And no one—especially not Damon Blackwell—was going to ruin it.

Damon: the golden boy, the playboy, the billionaire’s only son. He’d waltzed into the firm three months ago like he owned the place, and technically, he did.

He was also infuriatingly gorgeous.

Sharp jawline, dark hair that curled just slightly at the collar, and eyes that made smart women like Lena temporarily forget what the hell they were saying.

Unfortunately, she never forgot to hate him.

He was arrogant, smug, and somehow still charming enough to get away with it.

Today, he was already in the boardroom, legs crossed, sipping his espresso like he hadn’t stolen the spotlight from her last week.

“You’re in my seat,” Lena said sharply, placing her tablet on the table.

Damon looked up, slow and easy, like a man who’d never been rushed in his life. “Didn’t see your name on it.”

“I don’t need to label my property,” she said, sitting across from him. “Everyone knows it’s mine.”

Damon grinned, wicked and unbothered. “Well, now you know how I feel about the company.”

Touché.

💋 CHAPTER 2: Tension Builds

The meeting was brutal.

Damon and Lena went toe-to-toe, their ideas clashing like thunder and lightning. Her campaign was sleek, efficient, and ROI-focused. His? Risky, bold, and seductive.

“Your numbers are strong, Lena,” Damon said after the room cleared. “But numbers don’t make people feel.”

She scoffed. “And feeling doesn’t pay the bills.”

“You sure about that?”

He took a step closer. Then another. She was trapped between him and the glass wall, the city sprawling behind her.

“I think you like fighting with me,” he murmured.

“Why would I like that?”

“Because it turns you on.”

Her breath caught. His words hung between them, daring her to deny it.

She didn’t.

🔥 CHAPTER 3: The Elevator

The next night, they stayed late.

The office was empty. The energy between them wasn’t.

She was halfway through a presentation when Damon stepped behind her, leaning in close.

“You smell like strawberries,” he whispered.

Lena turned around. “You need to stop doing that.”

“What? Getting close?”

“Making me feel things I shouldn’t.”

He didn’t reply. He just kissed her.

Hard. Deep. Hot.

When the elevator doors closed behind them, hands were already in hair, on hips, fumbling with buttons. His mouth found her neck, her shoulder, her gasp.

She rode him like a storm on the 32nd floor while the elevator stalled.

Nobody ever knew.

But behind closed doors, they weren’t enemies anymore.

🌪️ CHAPTER 4: The Fallout

The next morning, everything changed.

He was cold. Distant.

She felt stupid.

She told herself it was just sex. Just tension. Just a mistake.

But the worst part? She missed him.

A week later, she found out why: he was being considered for the creative director role. Her role.

He hadn’t told her. He’d smiled, kissed her, then went for her job.

Lena confronted him.

“You used me,” she hissed.

“I didn’t know they were considering me.”

“Liar.”

“I didn’t ask for the job, Lena.”

“But you didn’t say no.”

Silence.

She left before he could answer.

🥀 CHAPTER 5: Broken Things

Days passed.

Then a week.

Then two.

He texted. She ignored it.

But at the quarterly event, in front of the entire company, Damon stood on stage.

“I turned down the promotion,” he said. “Because someone better deserves it.”

He looked straight at Lena.

“And because I’d rather lose a title than lose her.”

Gasps. Whispers.

Lena stood frozen. Her heart cracked open.

After the event, he waited by the elevators.

he walked up, stood close.

“Say it again,” she whispered.

I love you.”

She kissed him.No more secrets. No more enemies.Only heat, love, and doors that finally opened.
