A Dream That Is Manifested
Tales from the Black Book

It’s been almost three months since Chandra Alexander was laid off as a Medical Receptionist at the St. Mark General Hospital in
Monticello, NewJersey. The act came at a total shock. Chandra was given until noon to clear her things out and leave the premises.
After a long cry and nap. Chandra went to her little Black Book 📖 of thoughts, feelings and dreams. It was her most prized possession. Chandra’s Black Book was one of many. Chandra buys a new Little Black Book every year to document her life. Of course the Lay Off would be one of her entries but Chandra had a dream 😴 about her deceased grandfather handing her a envelope with money inside. Chandra’s grandfather said in the dream, “ You earned it. You deserve it”. Chandra awoke and immediately went to her Little Black Book to write about her dream 🛌. You see Chandra believes that nothing just happens and her dream means something but not quite sure but wanted the dream to be documented as to perhaps reflect of it at a later time but saw it as a positive sign that her finances would be provided somehow in order for her to maintain her standard of living 🏡.
Chandra did have some savings but was unsuccessful in receiving unemployment so Chandra is somewhat concerned about how she will manage but will survive somehow. There is a reason for this season, Chandra wrote in her Little Black Book and asks God to watch over her health, peace, finances and home. Amen 🙏🏾
A couple of days later Chandra goes and visits her Dad. Chandra’s Dad is a widower. Chandra is a widow as well. An unfortunate bond that they share. Chandra’s Mom and Husband died the same year three months apart.
Chandra’s Dad {Mr. Harold Johnson} is a no nonsense type of man that has a deep faith in God. Chandra and her Dad spend hours discussing Religion, Politics and Finances over dinner 🥘. Chandra started a ritual of always bringing Dinner to her Dad as a way to pay homage for her Dad many sacrifices he made in order to provide for his family. Chandra informed her father that she had lost her job and was not sure how long she would be able to live independently before becoming homeless. Chandra dad was visibly saddened by this news and told me he was sorry to hear 👂🏽 this news. Chandra is very protected and thankful to have her Dad. Chandra told her Dad about her dream of getting a large sum of money and wanted his thoughts.
Chandra dad said, “It’s just a dream 💭 it means nothing”. Chandra heard him but the words cut deep leaving a hollow feeling inside but she knew that she had to hold unto her dream because more than her admiration for her father she trusted God and the belief that God ministers and guides her life in part with dreams from the time Chandra was a small child. Chandra swallowed to clear her throat while fighting back tears. Chandra was speechless. Chandra had reservations about telling anyone about her dream but decided to share it with her father and in hindsight she wishes she had not. Oh, well. Chandra said to herself. Never again.
As the visit comes to a close. Chandra’s Dad mentioned that he remembered that many years ago that he had setup a Pension Plan with the Teamster Union and wanted to find out what happened since funds were taken from his check during the many years of when he was working.
I advised my Dad to look into the matter and see where it leads. Chandra left to return home 🏠 and wrote of her experience in her Little Black Book.
Chandra is a very sensitive person and in order to heal from her father’s blunt response to her dream. Chandra stayed away for a couple of months as to heal and not be argumentative out of respect for her father and work through it in her own way. Chandra called her Dad often to check on him and send meals but no face to face visits for a long while. Chandra her put time and energy into seeking employment and started a part time job as a Uber Driver and selling Avon.
It was four months later and I finally went back to see my father and things appeared the same. I was pleased to see he was well and thriving. As we were preparing to break bread together. My Dad says, he went to the Teamsters Union to check on his Pension and sure enough he was registered and had a backlog of payments from the time he retired to the present. My Dad had received a lump sum payment of $20,000. Chandra was floored and Chandra thought her dream was for my windfall to help me with my expenses. After Chandra got over the disappointment. Chandra’s father showed her the letter that was sent by the Teamsters Union and gave her a envelope with a $100.
Later that evening Chandra writes in her Little Black Book about the events that took place and tries to make sense of it all.
Chandra’s best explanation of the dream that manifested itself was that my Grandfather was a Truck Driver as well and got my Dad his first Trucking Job. $20,000 unexpected sum of money represent the cost of my Father’s home at time of purchase. Taxes and repairs were needed. My grandfather just was not talking specifically to me but I was blessed as well. This is Chandra’s best explanation and what she wrote in her Little Black Book.
Chandra’s faith still abides.
