The clock had slipped into Sunday morning three hours ago, with a heavy hanging full moon being the only light offered to the trio. Fog coasted the cemetery grounds, making each of their steps appear as if they were trudging through the dreary clouds. Holding the camera tight within her grasp, Nevaeh watched the pair of guys in front of her as they picked their way between the graves. They were far too chipper, far too eager, and far too disrespectful for this setting, but that nothing new.

Wide World of Mystery: The Screaming Skull
Vincent Gardenia, last seen being fed to Audrey 2 in the camp cult musical classic remake of Little Shop of Horrors (1960), oddly titled Little Shop of Horrors (1986), starring Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, Ellen Greene, John Candy, Bill Murray... and, well, you get it (but this is not the film I’m writing about). In 1973, Gardenia played Ollie in a little Dark Shadows-esque mini-thriller adapted from an old ghost story by F. Marion Crawford (the story had been adapted in 1958’s The Screaming Skull, which I reviewed long, long ago). The title has been used numerous times. Numerous. It’s a no-brainer.

September 2nd, 2025-8:35 AM "W-what do you mean, 'we don't talk to Edith Thompson'?" I ask, mind still spinning from the confusing revelation. It just doesn't make any sense! Why would an entire community, unanimously, decide to publicly shun a weird teen girl? Like, what did she do? What does she know? Rubbing both my temples, I continue, "Is that girl Edith Thompson? Why doesn't anyone talk to or acknowledge her? What happens if you do talk to her?"
