The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Bottle of Wine.
The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Bottle of Wine. Written By, Akil K. It began early one morning, while hard at work on a classic bust. He was a sculptor and became more devoted to his art each day. Working on a piece in the garage he loved the scent of the wet puddy, as he earnestly molded each prestine shoulder to his desire. Suddenly there was a knock, dramatically he froze in shock. It must be my wife he thought, although it was a bit early for morning disruptions.

Naught Nice. Top Story - December 2023. Content Warning.
This is for RM Stockton's Haunted Christmas Prompt. Here is the link if you would like to check it out! Callie just turned 16 this year, and Christmas was on its way soon. Her mom took her to the mall for some Christmas shopping for their friend's and family just like they did every year. And as per tradition, for Callie putting up with her mother's eccentric shopping, she was allowed to pick one early gift. Barbie's, Polly Pockets, and makeup kits were the usual choice every year. But this year, Callie's taste had really changed, as she was now identifying as an "Emo". Strolling through the seasonal isle, Callie happened to glance up from her phone, and immediately something caught her attention.

Reed Literary Horror Review of 'Beneath the Unspoiled Wilderness' (2022). Content Warning.
On the surface this is just your basic slasher novel. Some young adults go camping and something picks them off one by one. But as that plot progresses you realize there is still a ton of book left. So, after the final girl does her thing, what's left? And that enters the next phase of the book. You see, there are three distinct parts to this novel. It's not just some slasher, it's everything that would go along with it. What happens to the final girl after the nightmare is over is what this story is really about and it is indeed gripping. Gripping and quite tragic, I should say, without going into the spoilers.

The Dinner Invite. Content Warning.
Author's Notes: This is the second part or follow-up to Intrusive Thoughts of a Psychopath. I had thought about doing more with that character and as it recieved a lot of encouraging feedback, I figured I'd continue this warped tale.

CHRISTMAS WITH JERRY
Jerry arranged the decorations just so. A cherished mix of family ornaments, knickknacks, and adornments he had collected over the years. Snow globes and tin soldiers on the mantel. Garland and a nutcracker on the end table. A motorized Santa, who had long lost his naughty or nice list, in the corner. Jerry’s eyes lit up and a childlike smile appeared on his face as he switched on the toy train and it began its cycle around the Christmas tree. Dozens of other ornaments, decorations, and trinkets looked on as Jerry all but skipped to his keyboards. He preferred an actual organ, but that was too impractical. Jerry had worked the dual keyboard setup just as well. The extra control over the sound, as well as the portability, had appealed to Jerry. Though it had meant purchasing stands, foot pedals, cables, amps, and the like, he had never regretted the decision.

Snow Bunnys
Washington State is a spot known for its snowy vistas and picturesque scenery this time of year, and my husky Max and I love it. The snow was part of the reason I moved here after doing my eight years in the military, not wanting to see sand or feel the heat for the rest of my natural life. I thought strongly about Alaska, but I wasn't in love with the price of supplies or the cost of living.
