The Haunting of Willow House
Willow House. It stood deep in the heart of the town, an old Victorian mansion with a history as dark as its shadowy corridors. Most of the town's residents would avert their gaze and gather their children close whenever they had to walk by, whispering horror stories about its haunted past. Its walls were crumbling, and rats could be heard scurrying deep within the recesses of its rotting frame. None allowed their eyes to linger on its generally avoided walls.

The Eye of the Beholder. Content Warning.
They were lovers, Jack and Millie. It was a fast start, but what they had was real. Between long nights watching movies and talking about life. Trips to the mountains, where they slept in the back of his SUV, listening to the rain bounce off the sunroof. It was perfect, Millie thought, until one day she noticed the passcode change on his phone.

A Shadow of her Former Self
It all started when my wife died eight months ago. Susan was everything to me. We had been together since high school, and it had been love at first sight. We married after graduation and had spent eighteen years together in wedded bliss. I worked as a writer, finding jobs in editing or column writing, Susan working as a receptionist for a friend of my mother. We spent a lot of time together, my days spent mostly waiting for her to come home. I lived for the moments when we were sitting in front of the TV together or curled together in bed as we talked about our day. We never had children, though it wasn’t for a lack of trying. I was afraid she would leave me when she discovered I was infertile, I’d been injured when I was small, but she just smiled and said we would just have to be satisfied with each other.

The Abandoned Mansion. Content Warning.
In the middle of night, when the moon was low and the woodland was cloaked in fog, a lone wanderer came across an abandoned mansion nestled amid the trees. Its once-grand facade had become decrepit and frightening, with windows boarded up like the eyes of a long-forgotten phantom. Ignoring the wind's warnings, the traveler pushed open the groaning gate and entered, attracted by an unfathomable force.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Necrosis' (2009)
SPOILERS!!! Oh yeah, it's that bad. We're starting with the spoilers. Now, to be fair, it is Good-Bad or "So Bad It's Good." In fact, this was the movie I was promised when I originally heard reviews about The Sand (2015). That movie was actually unfairly maligned, because, yeah it was low budget, yeah it had bad acting, yeah it had shit CGI, but for the most part it was good enough for horror, and even pretty smart. This movie is what I expect when people say "So Bad It's Good." So if you're looking for good riffing material, watch this, not The Sand. The Sand isn't actually all that bad.

Nightfox Reports: A Train to Nowhere
This is a hasty report because this shit just happened. Sometimes I do not even need the internet to stumble onto a weird, horrific event. Sometimes just trying to get home from somewhere I run over a mystery. Tonight I was in Downtown Los Angeles picking up some strictly medicinal herbs for my special brownie recipe from a reliable supplier, and testing some samples of other products he had. (We got baked!). Afterwards I had to take the subway to get back to the Valley so I skated over to Union Station, the hub of all the trains and buses in the Los Angeles area to catch the Red Line to NoHo. Personally, I have no idea why they call North Hollywood “NoHo” when there are tons of Hoes there. (Cue rim shot!) Whatever, I needed to get back to my kip in North Hills to start baking my goodies.
