Terror in the Woods
The Terror in the Woods The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Everyone ignored it. After all, times were tough. Transients came and went, and no one would begrudge a person staying the night in the place, no matter how decrepit it was.

Grace
I never knew how bad things could get, never knew life as I knew it could turn into a big pile of shit. As I walk the streets of Bronx, New York I come across people from my school. They look away violently as if I’m not human, like I’m some kind of monster. I remember having friends and laughing with them, that is until everyone found out things about my dad; things I still can’t believe. My mother gets drunk on a daily basis, she's becoming someone I can’t recognize. I look up at the foggy, dingy sky and there’s the only hope I’ll find. I turn left into an alley, I walk towards a beat up door. I take out my house keys and I unlock my front door. I walk inside to the smell of cigarettes and vodka, my mom's afternoon incense. “Hey, baby.” My mom, Yuna slurs. I wave and I give her a sympathetic glare. I walk past her to enter my room, I close my door and I plop on my bed. My thoughts become a marathon, I try to catch up to them but I can’t.

Cotard's Syndrome
Perhaps, somewhere, there is a ship at sea, one that never docks but merely circles the Earth atop crystal waters on some sort of endless loop. I have found myself aboard this ship. Though calling myself a passenger would be generous. I have been brought here against my will, a prisoner to the cold grip of death.

Flight of the Blue Jay Part Ten: A Blast from the Past
The week dragged on, Sammy never leaving out of his sight. Even he was getting on my frayed nerves, the voice of the Red Devil running through my head. His composure was unsettling, my mind knowing that every word he uttered was truthful and most importantly disturbing. Mastermind refused to let me see my ex husband, the raw anxiety of him being near me eating me alive. Out of an ancient habit, I nibbled on my nails for the first time in years. Leaping out of bed, my trembling fingers threw on my black suit, my nimble fingers messing with the tie around my neck. Glancing into the hall, no one was around. My black boots clicked down the hall to the holding cell that my ex was sitting in. His steely eyes met mine, chills running up my spine. A touch on my shoulder jerked me out of my trance, Mastermind glaring down at me.

Don't Go to Sleep
Don't go to sleep. You've been taught many things: that it's necessary, that it's natural, and most especially, that it's safe. These are all untrue. Sleep is something which is a holdover from our animal ancestors, and modern humans should be able to function without. For our entire existence though, we have continued to sleep as though it still is something we need for our survival. Little do we know that all we do when we sleep is make ourselves more vulnerable.

Corazon del Mar
Our first two weeks of sailing had been uneventful. We left Gibraltar on the 28th of June 1972 headed for Florida, USA. There had been no unusual weather patterns for the first two-thirds of the journey. As expected, there had been mostly sunny and blue skies. The guests all seemed to be happy. At most, we’d had a couple of complaints due to a few unruly children and one couple arguing too loud for their neighbour’s comfort.

A Lover's Quarrel
In the middle of the night, a loud crash echoed into the quiet halls of a suburban home, startling Kristy awake and out of Nate's arms. Kristy sat upright, running her fingers through a thick nest of golden waves until it was calm. She reached over and turned on her lamp. A soft, dull light illuminated her bedroom. She glanced over at Nate, still fast asleep. A small stream of saliva threatened to fall on her precious and expensive satin sheets, but Kristy smacked at his arm. Nate slurped down, dark shades of forest-green irises peeking open at different times.

Secret Within
My Secret’s are safe with my mind and my soul. No one will know the torment I went through as a small child. The anger and hatred my parents had for one another. Watching the love dissipate from there eyes as they tormented one another with there evil words and lack of communication. My heart sank more and more into darkness .

Flight of the Blue Jay Part Nine: The Red Devil Appears
The van jostled us around, trees flashing by the windows. Alarm widened my eyes, the mental hospital where my husband was kept was looming in the distance. Panic raised through my mind, trembles shaking my entire body. Every nerve in my body was on high alert as a black metal door squealed open. Empty black tunnels twisted endlessly in front of us, Mastermind turned back to me.
