Childhood Insanity
The dark shielded her from whatever made the wet squelching sound. Down in the basement of her childhood home, the smell of mildew and rotting wood was potent. Her scraped knees were curled into her torso and she kept a hand pressed against her quivering lips. Her pale green eyes blinked back tears as she attempted to hide herself deeper behind some shelving near the basement stairs.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Bingo Hell' (
You know, for a shoe stringer, this was pretty good. Kinda reminds me of Bubba Hotep in many ways, and not just the feel of the horror as slightly ridiculous, but also the way it was shot, and the general presentation of the story.

Horror Story of Eye Replacement
(A) Mijiashan washed his hands in the toilet, first with soap, then with hand sanitizer, repeatedly smearing and rubbing, so carefully that even the nail crevices refused to let go, like a dutiful doctor in pre-operative disinfection, and like a calm criminal in cleaning up the scene of the crime. Full attention. Meticulous.

Tin Can Sam
I was a child of the late 80s, in a time when kids played on the streets till the street lights came on, and riding your bike through town was as normal as going to the corner store to buy your mom smokes. In fact, the woods seemed to be the only place my dad specifically said was off-limits. The woods seemed to be a boundary for many families, and I never knew anyone who went there willingly.

The husband who was replaced
My husband disappeared six months ago. One day he just went to work and never came home. This event shocked all the neighbors, because this has never happened in our quiet suburb surrounded by white lace fences. The police launched an investigation; a neighborhood watch went around the neighborhood, but no one found a single clue that could clarify what had happened to him. Our families struggled in vain with grief. Not so long ago, the last posters with the inscription "wanted" with my husband's face disappeared, torn down, or buried under new ads. The police contacted me less and less, and gradually the calls stopped. I have accepted a new reality. No matter how difficult it was, I admitted that my Martin would never come back.

Switching Paths
I jerked awake, sweat trickling down my face. I was absolutely terrified and I could hardly breathe in my swelteringly stuffy bed. My chest was constricting, my heart about to break out of my chest. Hurriedly, I calmed myself down, breathing in and out, reminding myself that it wasn’t real. I was okay. But it wasn’t working, and I could still feel its hot breath on my neck, and those fierce, black eyes. Every word I said to myself never helped, considering I couldn’t actually hear them. All I ever hear is a dull buzz, since I was born. In the end, I willed myself to stay calm, false hope flowing through me.

Sitting in the Dark
It is a very particular type of person who sits in the dark, who turns and runs towards that from which others shudder away in abject fear. It is the shared saga of the hero and the villain. When the dark becomes more comfortable than the light. To the uninitiated, one living in fear will act out of fear and drive out all light from their life such that each day is another level descended into Hell. Each step further from the light of love and all things wholesome. Clinging to the faintest whispers of love; the ecstasy of passion, control, and affirmation. Eventually the excess of searching for light to fill the black hole of their hearts consumes all who enter in and even the sun is pulled into this vortex of voracious vexation. Life itself is bemoaned and all that is revealed are the smoking ashes of a once great life self-imploded by the ghosts of fear in their head.

Black Site 7
I'm in the wind, I'm sure I'll be dead by tomorrow, but I need to let people know this thing is loose. I'm an agent with the United States Government, and my station is Black Site 7. I won't tell you my name, it would probably be useless to you, but this was not how I saw my life going. I spent 6 years in Iraq, signed up right after high school. It was nothing like the recruiter told me it would be. I spent eight years in the blistering heat. I hauled my fair share of comrades out of firefights and saw a lot of shit over there that would make ordinary people go crazier than I might be. I've had camel spiders crawl on me while I sleep, watched friends I've known since basic get decapitated through binoculars, burned houses full of insurgents and civilians to rubble, and a lot of other things I don't like to think about. When I was done, they gave me my papers, thanked me for my service, and sent me home.
