Mayhem Film Festival 2021 Review
It's the most wonderful time of the year! No, I don't mean Christmas I mean Mayhem Film Festival. After a scaled back 'skeleton' edition in 2020, this year was back to normal, except for a few minor COVID-related changes, with 15 feature films plus their signature shorts showcase over four days. Taking place at the stunning Broadway cinema in Nottingham, Mayhem has been running since 2005. Initially starting with shorts, they soon expanded to include features too with a focus on horror, sci-fi and cult. I have attended the festival in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, & 2019 so you can see why I was so excited to be back! This year we had several films directed by duos as well as zombies, and demons, and magic, oh my!

Well-known paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) leave their 10-year-old daughter Judy (McKenna Grace) alone with Mary (Ellen Madison Iseman) and close friend Daniela (Katie Sarife) one night after the demon doll U -Annabelle (Lorraine), warned by Beacon and other evil spirits, is summoned to flee alone, while other investigators have time to place their daughter in Mary's hands, and it does not take long for the naughty teenager (Daniela) to come home and take out Annabelle's doll and a crowd of other evil spirits. The most dangerous thing is that the doll is locked in her sacred glass box for spiritual protection.

'V/H/S/94' Movie Review
V/H/S/94 is the latest in the V/H/S found footage anthology series. In this entry, which takes place (of course) in 1994, a SWAT team is raiding an abandoned warehouse which formerly housed a cult, and they come across a collection of snuff films. Each of these tapes features a different tale of horror, and each of them were written and directed by different filmmakers. This gives each story their own unique aura.

Halloween Kills
**SPOILER ALERT** Michael Meyers is back, but we all knew he would return, or rather that he never left. For the twelfth installment of the franchise director David Gordon’s Halloween Kills is a fun ride, and at times funny, but at best it felt like nothing more than a filler. I’ll be honest and say that I am not the largest fan of Michael Myers and his story, while I can appreciate a good slasher film, this story was not what I expected in the least bit.
