Ozploitation Royalty: Dennis Hopper Brings Mad Dog Morgan To Visceral Heights
In the autumn of 1865 the unique and notorious desperado, bushranger Dan Morgan, crossed the Murray River from New South Wales into Victoria to do battle with the law for the last time. What happened has been a secret for over 100 years. And so it should have been, if only to save face for the corrupt and hated colonial establishment of the day. This then is the fascinating tale, told for the first time, of the romantic and extraordinary villain they called Mad Dog Morgan. - Tagline from the film

The Shadow Over Overlord
Overlord is good. Actually, it’s more than good. It’s great. Although not entirely original, it has appeared at a time where the remake has pushed its way to the forefront of horror cinema. With the influx of unnecessary horror remakes and canon-jumping franchise sequels as of late, Overlord brings with it elements most notably found in video games and strange fiction while giving a generous nod to horror films of the past without cashing in on the name and likeness.

Toxic Hooch, Dick Football, and Oblivion-Black Humor
Once in a blue moon, a movie comes along that provides like no other. It can contain in-depth analysis into the human psyche, a romantic tryst that inhibits the world from rotating on its axis, profound intellectual human emotions on galactic levels, and/or redemption that sustains your inner wisdom that unchains the shackles of remorse or guilt.

A Definitive Ranking of "The Conjuring" Franchise. Top Story - December 2021.
The Conjuring. Whether or not you like horror movies, audiences everywhere have been captivated by the franchise. James Wan first introduced audiences to the saga in 2013, with the first film, rightly named “The Conjuring”. Since then, seven more movies have been released in the universe, and at least two more are known to be in talks of production. The main draw to the films is no doubt their connection to Lorrain and Ed Warren. Ed, a famed demonologist, and Lorrain, a skilled psychic medium, have taken on hundreds of cases throughout their lengthy career. Some include the Amityville Horror house, the Smurl haunting, and The Snedeker House ( best known from the film The Haunting in Connecticut, though not a part of The Conjuring franchise).

Review: "Candyman"
Bernard Rose's take on Clive Barker's Candyman back in 1992 still stands the test of time as one of the best horror films to come out. Inevitably, the hit film spawned a bunch of sequels that never quite hit the success of its predecessor. In comes Jordan Peele off the success of hit films like Get Out and Us looking to rejuvenate the franchise and largely he did. Peele worked with director Nia DaCosta on this film and both shared writing credits. The pair disregarded the sequels that followed the original Candyman and instead focused on the aftermath of it created a pseudo-spiritual sequel. This take on the character enriches the universe and builds on it to incredible success.

‘Black Friday’: The Good News Is It Includes Bruce Campbell, the Bad News Is That It’s Not Very Good
Adding Bruce Campbell to your cast will automatically attract any genre enthusiast. The man is a legend, possibly one of the most charismatic men on the planet. A man so charismatic, I’m seriously considering watching an upcoming Hallmark movie just because he’s in it. I know it’s going to suck, but hey, it’s got Bruce Campbell! At the very least, I can admire his chin for 90 minutes.

Feminist Film Theory in a Meta Horror Film
**Spoilers** American teen horror films have a set formula. Characters fall into infamous tropes; jock, slut, voice-of-reason main character who always lives, etc. These overused tropes show up again and again, to the point where audiences and even filmmakers want a change.

I Know It's Not Halloween
Horror has got to be my uttermost favourite movie genre. I have always been a big fan of the genre. I have collected several favourite movies thoughout the years. After Halloween and before Christmas, as it starts to get darker and colder outside, it sets the mood to be just right for horror films. Even if it is a tad late for a post like this, I have been on a horror movie binge lately. I have watched so many of them over the past many years, that I am pretty picky when it comes to my horror films and I have my opinions on them. I do enjoy the cheesy ones, that is part of my issue. I have a few films collected on this list that I have discovered this past year that I utterly adored. Netflix has really a great selection of horror films that they do a pretty good job of keeping updated year to year.
