The Mostly Unsurprising Results of 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' (2022)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise has always been a continuity mess, and its entries have run the gamut ranging from poor to middling to good. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022), released on Netflix, is not the first entry to ignore everything except the 1974 original, but it does try to capture the atmosphere and pacing of the original perhaps more so than any of the previous installments. The hints of competence make it all the more frustrating that this film suffered in various aspects, making it one of the weaker entries. Granted, given the history of the franchise, my expectations were low, so I am not surprised. But here are the reasons for my rating.

Movie Review: 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)' is Utter Trash and We Deserve Better
“Do something and you are totally canceled bro!” Random Leatherface victim in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022. Allow me to set the scene: A bus filled with Zoomers partying late into a rainy Texas night. Leatherface, the famed chainsaw killer boards the bus wearing his adopted mother’s face and carrying his chainsaw. Slack-jawed soon to be dead, Zoomers point cellphone cameras at Leatherface and victim number 1 threatens the lunatic killer with cancel culture. A generation that has lived through multiple school shootings is here portrayed as so dimwitted and P.C that they believe cancel culture would stop a chainsaw wielding maniac.

I Don't Want to Talk About TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE
We're clearly having something of a "moment" in horror. Laurie Strode returned for Halloween and Halloween Kills, and she'll be back in Halloween Ends. 2022's Scream brought Sidney Prescott back to the current decade. Spiral brought a new spin on Saw. In 2021, Candyman returned for the first time in decades.

Horror And Halloween- 8 Horror Movies You Really Don't Want To Miss
Although this may seem like an obvious forecast, we'll make it anyway: 2022 will be remembered as a fantastic year for horror films. The month of January began with a meta-horror "requel" dethroning a Spider-Man film at the top of the box office. We'll soon be able to watch a brand new Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Later this year, a new Evil Dead installment produced by the wicked pair of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell will smack us in the face like a possessed, severed hand, just the way we like it. We'll also receive the final installment of the latest Halloween remake, and to top it all off, Pinhead, everyone's favorite beautiful sex god, will return.

Jill Roberts Was Not Misunderstood Nor Tragically Evil
There is no such thing as MOTIVES in the Scream trilogy. That's what I have always believed. Motives are used as excuses to find a delusional reason as to why you chose to put on the costume and slaughter whoever you feel shouldn't be living anymore.

Is Last Night in Soho a Good Ghost Story?
First Impressions Of the Film Last Night in Soho is a beautifully filmed project with an impeccable music lineup and taste. It’s the sort of film made for 20-somethings who grumble about how they were born in the wrong era and long for the height of 40s, 50s, and 60s pop culture that they find pleasant to adapt into their own current life.

The Odd Controversy Around Mike Flanagan's 2016 Thriller Hush . Top Story - February 2022.
Impressions of the Film I really like Hush (2016). This is one of the few horror films I’ll watch on multiple occasions because I love the thriller/adventure aspect of this slasher film.

Intrusion
Intrusion is a film you should watch simply because while predictable it was entertaining. The actors really get into character with this one. As well the camera and lighting of this film being great. The film simply entertained me and that is why I would recommend it. Was it the best psychological thriller out? No, however, it was a great quick movie that not only peaked my interest but held it as well.

‘Scream’ (2022) Movie Review
2022’s Scream picks up just over a decade after where Scream 4 left off, this time riffing on the new trend of “requels” (long-belated sequels to horror classics meant to reignite a franchise). After a girl named Tara (Jenna Ortega) is attacked by a Ghostface copycat, her sister Sam (Melissa Barrera), and Sam’s boyfriend, Richie Kirsch (Jack Quaid), contact the now-retired Sheriff Dewey Riley (David Arquette) to help them survive someone’s obvious attempt at a requel to the infamous Woodsboro murders. And soon, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) have no choice but to get involved.

Scream (2022) Movie Review
Scream (or 5cream, is what I like to call it!) is a satirical slasher movie that unfortunately commits the same clichés it is parodying. Although not a terrible movie, it is still effective in it's horror. There are some scary and gory kills here and there, but they are very few and far between. Instead the movie spends a little too much time trying to catch you up with characters new and old. It has a lot on it's plate! You see, this movie is an attempt to soft reboot the franchise. In typical Scream fashion; we even have a scene of the movie nerd talking about how the plot is similar to that of the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy and Ghost Busters Afterlife, how it's essentially a remake of the first movie, but with the legacy characters from the original.
