BABY JIGSAW
The concept of Halloween is fantastic. It's phenomenal how you get to dress your little boy or a girl in the adorable Disney princess or attractive Disney king costume. I always like to go above and beyond to show my daughter that her dad is creative. To show my daughter that her mother and her father can create something that will make people laugh and make people stop in their tracks. The family that will have people look at their costumes because, as a family, they came together and made everybody's attention go to their excellent costume design. We decided to think about what was not expected for an infant costume. We decided to take a horror film, add a spin, and a joke to it by creating my daughter being the "jigsaw" doll from the famous movie "SAW." The game we have to play is getting the key out of her diapers to get us back into our house. Still, you know how kids are they take important objects and misplace them, and so it's just a loving joke that she swallowed the key, and now we have to dig through dirty diapers to find it! Happy Halloween to us, parents, right?. You know, people wonder how you can make a horror movie funny, or kid-friendly. Hence, as we sat back, we thought this would be cute and organic if we find a way to make this parent and kid-friendly and appealing to the eye without being too scary for a toddler, and I believe we pulled it off marvelously. I love any concept that can bring families together, and this is something my child's mother and I can sit down and design a costume and make people laugh and make people admire the time we spent together. To go out and buy our daughter the same old trending costume is fun, but instead, we sat together as a family unit and bonded while we designed this costume. I plan to do that for every Halloween up until my daughter has kids. All you need is a little chocolate syrup, a little face paint, some cardboard from the dollar store, and some old T-shirts. You have a family bonding time fast, easy cheap way of building a costume. There are always ways to fall into depression during a pandemic. There are still was to stay positive, like making a costume with your family. That's a great start; to get out of your head, get out of your comfort zone. This monumental moment in history causes many people to be sad, so I hope people take the time to build with their kids, have a great family time and family moments, and don't let this moment take away from the joy you brought into this world. It's easy to buy a costume for $30, but it's more joyful to watch your kid help you build an outfit that you, as a parent, taught from scratch. Now you get to see everybody watch you guys walk down the street and say, "wow, they put that together as a family so cool!". So I hope everybody for Halloween this year goes costume designing different as possible! The Allman family will always have surprises for the world's people when it comes down to holiday events! Imagine what I have in store for next years costume, stick around and see, and you'll be shocked!! Happy Halloween 2020!

Halloween Cancelled
Halloween is Cancelled? By Casey Ann Patterson Unfortunately, I have heard Halloween 2020 has been cancelled due to COVID19. Where I live in Upstate NY within this last week, we have seen an uprise in people suffering from COVID19. The NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo has started dividing the effected areas into zones. With an uprise in COVID cases we now have yellow (some cases of COVID), orange (medium cases of COVID) and red zones (lots of COVID cases). I work and live on the cusp of a yellow zone. As autumn fills the air and Pumpkins and cider arrived on our shelves in my Grocery store my attention is drawn to the giant bags of candy still sitting in our displays. With COVID cases on the rise in our area, so far the only function that I know of that hasn’t been cancelled is our local trunk or treat and during this yearly activity, and participants are being asked to stay in their cars. I believe as we get closer to the eve that all children and adults look forward to besides Christmas, we will see more restrictions and children may be asked to refrain from traditional trick or treating.

The Origins of Halloween
The origins of Halloween are ancient, though the time of origin is uncertain. Halloween is thought to have originated around the time the Celts split from the Romans around A.D. 325. The Celts worshiped the Goddess of the dead, who they thought had walked the earth as a human after her human body had died. The druids of ancient Ireland celebrated the end of harvest by celebrating her returning to heaven by the "sowing of the skulls," re-enacting the fertility and resurrection of nature at the new season, which may explain why skulls are so prominently featured in modern-day Halloween. All this new life from their crops that would be forever ruined. So they stuffed the skulls full of corn on the cob, popped their eyeballs, and twisted the corn kernels onto their points to form the familiar jack-o'-lantern symbol.

Why I love horror movies on Halloween.
I started a tradition in my thirties. Every year on Halloween I watch a movie that has Vincent Price acting in it. It has nothing to do with fitting in or being like someone else. I watch other movies too but I wanted to be entertained by things on the back shelf. I watch horror movies all year round. I noticed vintage film when I was younger. It really does not get the writing credits it deserves. Some of those films would be considered monumental art movements that were idolized but they are shunned because they deal with the murder aspect. Some of their storylines sound like the next great America novel. To kill a Mockingbird deals in some of the most vulgar topics. Racism gave a lie the right to kill a black man for committing rape. That in itself is ridiculously cruel and insane. But most horror films get lost in the mix between bad porn and obnoxious teenagers who slaughter silly monsters. I wanted to see what else was out there. I wanted to be entertained and I wanted to see where it all started. I started collecting rare horror films in my twenties. I found a few typical duds. But I also found some of the most amazing pieces of art in cinema known to my mind. I think Vincent Price was a name mostly associated in the bizarre of horror. But he was also a gentleman who was an amazing performance artist. The Tingler for example is a brilliant film. Cat and mouse trust games between married couples. And the only cure is to scream. A puppet master alien insect creature that can kill you by your own fear. Very before it’s time. Opening the door to shows like the Xfiles and movies like What Lies Beneath. I think Vincent Price reminds me of great Friday night movies and I want to celebrate Halloween by entertainment. I am not obsessed and I doubt that I have seen even half of Vincent Price’s films but I am happy with continuing. The Last Man on Earth is a Price film where he plays a scientist. He watched everyone in the world die of a mystery illness. Then he realized that the disease was turning the human race into vampire zombies. He was trying to save the world by killing the vampires. Then the government killed him along with anyone else to cover it up. They didn’t want to take the time to look for hope or the possibility that anyone in the area was still human. They resorted to atomic bombs and bullets. I am a Halloween fan. Anything with the phrase Michael Meyers in it would turn my head. I have seen everything to do with the Halloween franchise. I love John Carpenter’s work. He is an inspiration to me. Michael Meyers is a sad story of a child who was brainwashed by mad scientist who wanted to dabble in Druid witchcraft in hopes of gaining power. They never considered the abused child who incurred years of brain damage . They also never cared for the fact that he would wake up someday and realize that he murdered his whole family. In some insane trip of rage triggered by the hands that robotically controlled him.

Quarantined Halloween 2020
I'm a huge Halloween lover. Since I became a teacher, I always dressed up for my students for Halloween. I went to university dressed in Halloween attire and it really had nothing to do with the cliché 'death and gore' of it all. It was because it gave me a reason to dress up and where wigs, to make people laugh at my funny costumes and actually have a reason to do so. I mean once, I think I went to university dressed as Lestat from "Interview with the Vampire" and the very next year I went as Kiriyama from "Battle Royale" so you can tell how informed I am about the season.
