The Owl Menace
It was a brisk, cold autumn sunset in the small New England town of West Chesterford, Massachusetts when my wife and I walked down the street toward a local coffee shop. We looked around at the many colorful reds, oranges, and yellows that filled the sky from the many trees around us whose leaves had changed colors and revealed their full splendor. Many people in the coffee shop sat around talking excitedly and sipping hot cocoa. But then we turned our heads to the right and saw something unsettling.

Sadie's First Date
I ran my hand through my hair one last time making sure it was in place and took a deep breath before stepping into the dimly lit restaurant. I started towards the hostess stand, hoping to be directed to the table where he would be waiting for me. That's when I saw him. He looked perfect. His dark hair was perfectly tousled and a few strands hung down over one eye. His dark eyes were focused on the glass of merlot sitting in front of him. His facial hair framed those sexy lips perfectly. I held my breath and began to walk towards the table.

Ride the Lightning- Final Interview
Grandad was in the ICU when I arrived, and I found my parents and my grandmother sitting in the waiting room. Mom hugged me when she saw me, her tears making my shoulder soggy almost at once. They wouldn't let her see him yet, grandad having just gotten out of surgery, but the police were hoping to ask him some questions when he came to. I asked what had happened to him, and mom said the officer she'd talked to hadn't had a lot of information.

Fine Wine Pairings
Fine Wine Pairings My heart thumped loudly in my chest and my palms dripped sweat as I paced anxiously back and forth in my SOHO loft. I rubbed my damp palms on the leg of my white silk pants, not even thinking about the mark they might leave. That’s how nervous I was for this, this blind date of sorts. At 27 years old I had never really considered online dating, let alone online BLIND dating, yet here I was waiting for a stranger to come knocking on my door. Millions of thoughts flooded my anxiety riddled brain as I checked my reflection for the hundredth time. “Mariah, be cool. You are strong, independent, self-assured, and anyone would kill for the chance to be with you tonight.” I say to myself while staring at my reflection and flip my strawberry-blonde tresses over my shoulder.

The Hunted Mansion on the 67th street
Presentations Hi, my name is Elena, Elena Miller, I'm 17. I have emerald green eyes and I have very beautiful wavy pink hair. I dyed them on myself after my family died. I wanted to change my mind, I was sick of my hazel brown hair. I live with my best friend Amelia Collins, she has medium raven black hair and she has very beautiful ocean blue eyes, we could easily get lost. She is practically like my second sister. Our house is located in the countryside very close to the old mansion on 67th street. I don't know what's wrong with this establishment, and I'm not sure I want to know. Anyway, I'm more of a complicated and stubborn type of girl. I do what I want. From a young age, I have always convinced myself that ghosts do not exist, that they only live in the frightening stories children tell when they do not want to sleep. And I wanted at all costs to continue to believe it. Ghosts are not real. I am sure of it. These are just legends.

Forbidden Magic
“Beatrice!” I heard the soft call of my hard-working mother. I clutch onto the gate staring out at the darkening sky. Heart pounding, I leap over the metal gate and dash across my father's cornfield. My mother's calls got louder, the corn cut my naked legs and arms.

HOBO Kyle - chapter 6
The storm blew hard. Gusts of water and forest debris scattered into and throughout the night. Wind sent the rain in every direction, but down. Crashes of thunder punctuated the symphony of creaking trees, breaking branches, and rain lashing against the leaves.
