The Tragic Accident
In a small little town in Kansas, there lived a boy who loved to play basketball. Everyday after school, he always went to the park with his friends. His name was Arnell Jackson. He was in the 11th grade and was already the star player and captain. He got all A’s, and he helped his family a lot. His mom was sick, and his dad was too busy for anything dealing with his own family. Arnell had to take care of everyone and everything. He had to make sure his baby sister got to daycare and that his younger twin brothers got to school. He had to do all of that and then get to school on time. Arnell was the kind of guy that never said no. he had a girlfriend named Symone. She was the captain of the cheerleading squad. She loved to cheer at all of Arnell’s games. Everyday they rode to school together and rode home together. One day, one of Arnell’s aunts came to visit and she told Arnell that he could go out with his friends and girlfriend, because he needed to get out more. So, he decided to go pick up Symone and then go meet his friends. They all decided to go to a party and have fun. Arnell and his friends were drinking and smoking and having a good time. Then about 2 in the morning they decided to go to the beach. Arnell told Symone to get in the car because they were leaving. Arnell couldn’t drive because he was so drunk, but he drove anyway. Symone was so scared for her life and his that she started crying and panicking. Arnell turned to her and said, “Symone I Love You with all my heart and I would never want to lose you. But if something happens to me tonight tell my family that I am sorry. Tell them that I never meant to hurt them or leave them how I did. Tell them I love them.” After Arnell finished Symone started crying even more because she knew that he was going to do something crazy. Arnell and his friends were about 5 miles from the beach, when suddenly Arnell passed out while driving and Symone couldn’t move him to control the car. She tried and tried to take her seatbelt off so she could get out of the car, but it was too late. By the time she got her seatbelt off, they had got hit by a semi-truck. Arnell was crushed because it hit his side. Symone was alive and moving. The truck driver got out and checked to see who was in the car. He saw that Symone was banged up bad and that Arnell was on the hood of the car. He called 911 and gave them the location of where the accident was. They came and got both Arnell and Symone and took them to the hospital. Symone was okay except for a broken leg, some cuts and bruises. Arnell on the other hand was still alive but was in a full body cast and was in a coma. He had to have surgery when he got to the hospital, because glass and what ever else they could find was stuck in his body. He friends got to the hospital with his aunt and siblings. The doctor told them that they could see him but he was in a coma. The little one’s couldn’t go in because they were too young and everyone didn’t know how they would react. So one of the nurses volunteered to take them around the hospital and show them some of the things that happens there. Arnell’s aunt and friends were crying so much because they couldn’t believe that it really happened. After they visited with Arnell, they went to see how Symone was doing. They saw that she was awake and feeling okay and they saw her cast. They all apologized for what happened and then went home. A few weeks later Arnell’s family got a call saying that Arnell didn’t come out of his coma and that he died. It was a sad day that and they didn’t know how to tell Symone that her boyfriend was gone. So they did the best they could. Arnell’s friends went over and said, “Symone, we know that you have been through a lot lately, and we know that you are hurting, but we have some bad news. The hospital called today and said that Arnell didn’t make it.” Symone started bursting into tears. They gave her a hug one by one and told her everything was going to be alright and that if she needed anything, then to let them know. Symone took that offer and within the next week or so she was back on her feet. Symone thought to herself that she was never going to be happy again. She called one of Arnell’s friends whose name was J’ron and told him that she needed some advice and guidance. So he came over to keep her company. Symone asked him if he feels guilty about what happened to Arnell. He said, “Symone, Arnell was my best friend and I loved him like he was my younger brother, but we all do crazy things in life and this is one of those crazy things that we do. Arnell was your boyfriend and I know you loved him. I am sorry that you lost somebody that you really loved. No, I am not guilty about what happened but I am upset.” Symone was kind of glad that she had someone that understood what she was going through. They started hanging out with each other more and more everyday to comfort one another. When they went back to school, Symone and J’ron hung out a lot and they started talking not just as friends but more than that. They talked on the phone every night about their futures and where they plan on going after college. They saw that they both had the same kind of interests and that they might be going to the same college. They decided to just go ahead and be a couple. Arnell had already told them both that if something ever happened to him, that J’ron would be the one to take the role of caring for Symone. They both decided to go to Georgia Southern. They got married and had 2 beautiful girls right after college.

(excerpt: TLC is a collection of short to medium length horror stories I've written, I will release each one here. Because of the nature of the platform these versions have been adjusted to imply/ or vaguely describe their violence. Each TLC story was originally crafted with incredibly descriptive, graphic violence. The original versions are available elsewhere. If I manage to reproduce these stories with less violence, and they're still worth a read. I believe I've earned merit as writer. Thank you for your support.)

When the Pond Freezes
A cold breeze skimmed the top of the pond. The water shivered with a ripple across its surface. Meryl stepped out onto her porch and felt the wind's chill caress her cheeks and tousle her ashy brown hair. She knew this winter would be a cold one for Minnesota.

The Shark Rory
One billion years ago aliens nuked the whole entire earth. These aliens were called Glasphames. In their language this word meant Godly, Holy. They tried to kill off all beings on planet earth. They did not succeed; instead they just made all sharks stronger. Sharks could breathe on land; they were mutated but they formed way more cells in their bodies. They had about 30 million cells all throughout their bodies. I have no clue what was in that alien nuke, but it made sharks develop in ways people couldn’t even imagine back in the 21st century. Sharks nowadays aren’t even gray whitish anymore, they’re completely pinkish. Their eyes are all black and they feed off of each other and other sea animals. There aren’t any more human beings left; there’s just four armed beings walking around like they own the place.. And I, I’m Rory and I’m half Alien and half human. My father got abducted by this alien that had the physical appearance of a woman. She’s my mother and she taught me all that I know now. I have the ability to shape shift so that means I could shape myself into whatever form I would like. I transform my physical appearance into a shark because I love how they looked before the nuke hit earth. I’m always in the ocean swimming trying to investigate and find new beings in the ocean. I’m a curious creature; I always wonder what is out there. I wonder what I am not seeing that is not right in front of me. They say curiosity killed the cat, but lucky for me I’m powerful as it is. I am not afraid of anything; never have been, never will be. Besides all of my friends live in the ocean with me, so does my mother. We explore the ocean together running into nymphs and mermaids. We kill sirens before they kill us because they became crazy after the nuke hit them.I really have so much regret for being born sometimes because my mother and her race nuked the whole earth. I get depressed sometimes; sometimes I wish I knew what it was like to be “normal”. It hurts not knowing who my dad was. She killed him; yup my mother killed my father. That’s how these aliens reproduce. They’re like a succubus. They mate with their prey. It’s cruel and it’s not sane, but I’m used to it. They don’t know any better; that’s how they live. That’s how they lived all of their lives. The only reason I am not that way is because I am both human and alien. Humanity still lies within me. You’re probably wondering if there are more beings like me. The answer is no. My mom chose not to kill me out of boredom. That’s what she told me at least. Even as a child and her telling me this it made me have a heartache. Who knew someone like me can come out of something like her. I have empathy and sympathy; she just has more powers than I do. I’m surprised that she hasn’t killed me yet. Maybe a part of her loves me; I’d like to think that.

Bethelis
Bethelis:pronounced -beth- ellis BETHELIS ARRIVES This is a story about a vampire. His past and place of origin were unknown. His arrival in Chicago coincided with the World's Fair of 1893, in Chicago. Through his supernatural abilities of persuasion and hypnosis he incorporated a most willing and eager sidekick, or rather a partner in crime. Bethelis quickly becomes acquainted with the infamous H.H. Holmes. Mr. Holmes would later be referred to as America's first serial killer. Mr. Holmes was already practicing his horrific crimes in the solitude of his hotel. The hotel where Mr. Holmes created maze like hallways and rooms that doubled as death traps for unsuspecting victims. Bethelis enjoyed the blackness of the top two floors as well as the tremendous amounts of blood still pulsing through the veins of the nearly dead female victims discarded by Mr. Holmes.

Drop Dead Gorgeous
Drop Dead Gorgeous Death is such a drama Queen I would imagine by now everyone has heard the sop “ be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.” And I get that. However there are people like me who are careful, certainly do not ask for it, and yet still get it. What do we get? If you said nothing you are smart.

Night One The howl of the wind consumed the night as it partially silenced the chirps of grasshoppers and the croaking chorus of toads. When a break in the wind occurred sporadically, the inharmonic sounds of wind chimes could be heard serenading the outdoors in the distance. Damascus, Virginia was a small town of 600 where everyone knew each other. Declan, nicknamed Dec for short, loathed Damascus. Dec and his mother, Iris, had just moved into a small cottage not too far from the Virginia Creeper Trail. As Dec stared out of his bedroom window peering at the dancing tree branches under the moon’s spotlight, he was deep in thought about how much his life had changed in such a short amount of time. Every thought kept revisiting the moment his parents announced their divorce.

Mist and Smoke
Riding home on the bus tonight, I felt his eyes on me. I knew it was him, even before I glanced around the seats at my fellow passengers. Seeing him sitting on the little old woman's lap 4 benches back was no surprise. I wasn't even surprised that she was seemingly unaware of his weight on her legs. Nothing this black abomination did surprised me anymore.

How Can I Help You?
Nella Nella Jones had been thinking about relocating, yet again, for some time, the commute to work was hell, but then her employer made the decision to transition to remote work. There were a lot of opinions on the matter, but Nella was happy about the decision. She could mindlessly offer ‘How can I help you?’ customer service for debit cards from anywhere, so why not have no answers and apologize to grumbling clients from home rather than an office.
