Swimmin’ In the Holler
It’s early autumn here in Ohio and it’s almost ninety degrees. The leaves have been falling for a couple of weeks but it’s still hot enough to swim. This happens every year, and I should know I practically grew up on this lake. Sure, the waters a little colder because it’s late in the year, and it’s a little darker due to all the leaves, but in my opinion there’s no better time to go swimmin’ in this holler. In fact, I’d say this is the best place to go swimmin’ in the whole county.

She waits for me beneath the lake, my twin
Every night at midnight she calls for me. I awake in a cold sweat, and I hear her calling and beckoning me to the waters. Dorothea. My twin. How evil was she?. I will try to explain and ask you to form your own opinion on the matter.

Waiting for Death
Mary Patrick had lived in her home for years, and no one ever bothered her. She didn't bother her neighbors either. They were kind enough, occassionally someone would send one of their boys over to help her with her groceries when they seen her carrying her grocery bags inside, and she'd reward them with some candy or a dollar or two. Nothing more than what would be expected of an elderly lady living alone.

Sa Ki Mal
Living in the swamp has its magic and spooks. The magic is when the frogs gently croak at night while fireflies mimic the starry night sky, lighting your way to wherever you want to go. The spooks was when the swamp moss on the trees got so thick sometimes, that at night you’d swear a witches hand was grabbing at you from the earth.

Terror in the Chunnel
I was riding through the Chunnel by train going from London to Paris. This was my first time on the Chunnel and the only reason I was doing it was because I needed to get to Paris quickly. My boss was sending me over there to seal a business deal that would net us several million euros so this was top priority. Something about being one hundred and twenty feet underwater in a tunnel was just an unsettling idea. I know people use the Chunnel all the time and there has never been a problem but normally I figure don't test your own good luck.

Zombie Cruise
I've never cared for the water, not even as a baby. When my parents would try to bathe me I would scream something awful according to my mother. As I got older my dislike for water never really got better or worse but it was still there. I didn't do pools or water parks as a kid. I would sit off on the side, maybe put my feet in the water so I didn't look too weird. High school was also problematic because of the locker showers but I managed. However now I'm stuck on a cruise ship with my family in the middle of the ocean and I'll admit I'm panicking just a little.

Space Vampire
He was looking at the night sky. It was clear, and all the stars glowed brighter than usual. The cold air blew and it brought chills with it. At first, the cold effect made sense, but then, he felt another wave, a colder wave; he remembered something. He remembered a story that his father told him when he badgered him, as kids do, to tell him something scary before going to sleep. Why something scary? He couldn't remember.
