Horror fiction that delivers on its promise to scare, startle, frighten and unsettle. These stories are fake, but the shivers down your spine won't be.
Blood and Rain
All around her the fog swirled, thick and foreboding. No birds sang. No rodents chattered. It was as though they stood as silent witnesses to some horror she had yet to stumble upon within the shadows of her home. Her nose twitched. The scent of woodsmoke began to drift through the air, tinged with just the faintest hint of blood. Soon she would be able to smell roasting meat, she was sure of it. If she approached the right way, she might be able to win some food for herself.

My Sweet Assassin
I walked along the cobblestone alleyway without a care in the world— until I saw the wanted posters. The off-set yellowish color of the parchment complimented the brown brick walls it rested in the center of and the dirty, worn stone that made up the path to the town square. I stopped in my tracks and looked over the words of the poster, which by now, I've read dozens of times, but once more couldn't hurt. Could it?

Finish Your Food. Top Story - January 2021.
I can hear her now as if it were yesterday. Sunday evening was always one of my favorite times when I was growing up. We lived in a small little hick town on the outskirts of Prosperity, Indiana. All the neighbors were family in some way or another, and one of them was my grandmother.

Vlad
A young looking man with pale skin, long black hair with a single white streak traveling along the side and over his left ear, rests his well manicured hands on the arms of a black velvet chair. He turns only slightly to the left to catch you curiously staring at his long and slender fingers as they drum a bored repetitious tune. As you look up into his eyes, you are instantly swayed! He motions for you to sit across from him. Naturally you can't resist and do as instructed. Then you notice that his eyes are an odd mix of black cornea, red iris and white pin-prick pupils. His angular jaw seems relaxed as the strange gentleman smiles at you. "Do you know who I am?" He asks. You can not reply, simply shaking your head was all you could muster. His eyes begin to become radiant as he leans forward to whisper in your ear, "would you like to hear of my beginnings in the world?" Nervous and a little frightened, you involuntarily nod. He beckons for a waitress, whispers something to her and motions her away. A few seconds later she returns with a large pitcher of your favorite drink. Then he licks his lips, smiles and begins his tale:

Eating my experiences (9)
TOME 10 My heart beat faster with each pounding footstep, harder with each anxiety riddles thought of the impending town. We are now a mere half a day from town, and we had an eerily low amount of problems. We had not seen any in person, having only heard them on rare occasions, though I suppose not many people traverse this route now.

Little Black Noteboo(20)k
Waking up today felt like literally pulling teeth. Dreading the walk to work I pulled open my bedside drawer to drop my retainer into its protective case. Fumbling around, it seemed like there were more items in the drawer than when I went to bed. Pulling myself up on my side I wrenched the drawer fully open to find a little black notebook? 20k was embossed on the cover in slightly worn silver writing and font I did not recognize. I dropped my retainer into its case and slithered back into bed, opening the notebook to the first page.

The Night After Prom
She couldn’t stop smiling as she slowly unzipped her prom gown. The pink iridescent material glowed in the light from her bedside lamp. It was only 11:30 pm and while most of her classmates were partying, having sex and celebrating prom night, she was preparing for a warm bath and an early bedtime.
