It was a dark and stormy night, and Lisa was alone in her house. She had always been terrified of the dark, but tonight the fear seemed to be overwhelming. Every shadow seemed to move, every creak of the old house seemed to be a footstep. Lisa had tried to distract herself by watching TV, but even the noise and the flickering light couldn’t keep her mind off the darkness that surrounded her. She decided to go to bed early, hoping that sleep would bring her some peace.

As she lay in bed, Lisa felt her heart racing. She tried to think of happy thoughts, but her mind kept returning to the fear that had plagued her since childhood. She heard a strange noise outside her window and sat up in bed, her eyes wide open. The noise stopped, but Lisa couldn’t shake the feeling that someone, or something, was watching her.

She pulled the covers up to her chin and closed her eyes, hoping to fall asleep quickly. But as she drifted off, she heard a faint whisper in her ear. She opened her eyes and saw a dark figure standing at the foot of her bed. Lisa screamed and jumped out of bed, but as she turned on the light, the figure disappeared. She knew she had to be imagining things, but the fear was too real. She decided to leave her bedroom and spend the rest of the night on the couch in the living room.

As she made her way down the dark hallway, Lisa heard strange noises coming from the other rooms in the house. She tried to convince herself that it was just the wind, but the fear only grew stronger. She reached the living room and turned on the TV, hoping that the noise would help her relax. But as she sat on the couch, she felt something brush up against her leg. She looked down and saw a dark, shadowy figure creeping towards her. Lisa screamed and tried to run, but the figure grabbed her ankle and pulled her down.

She hit the floor hard and felt a sharp pain in her head. As she lay on the floor, she saw the figure standing over her, its eyes glowing in the darkness. She knew she was going to die, but she couldn’t move. The fear had paralyzed her. Suddenly, the figure disappeared and Lisa was left alone in the dark. She struggled to get up and made her way to the front door. She opened it and ran outside, into the pouring rain.

As she stood on the porch, gasping for air, she heard a faint whisper in her ear “I see you.” Lisa stood in fear, paralyzed. Too scared to turn around, thinking to herself that if she doesn’t turn around, it’ll go away. From behind her, the dark figure opened its mouth, creating a loud blood curdling scream. Piercing Lisa’s eardrums, causing her to cover her ears with her hands. Her spine tingles in fear, her shoulders tighten up to her ears. When she realized that the screaming stopped, she let her hands down. The breeze of wind felt nice against her red ears. However, Lisa was still very unsettled. Even though it was really dark outside, the porch light stayed on, giving her what little hope was left. Lisa managed to catch her breath again. As she was about to go back into her home, standing in her living room, was the dark figure. Cat-like eyes glowing in the dark, Lisa stood in fear again. Unable to move, unable to speak or scream, the figure approached her. The figure opened its mouth again, creating that loud eerie scream, then… Everything went dark.

The next morning police had shown up to Lisa’s home looking for her. The neighbors made calls concerning a screaming coming from Lisa’s home. When police were searching her home, they found Lisa’s body, on the living room floor in front of the couch. Head bleeding out, mouth wide open, as if she died screaming. Hair white as a ghost. As the police officer called in the coroner, the next door neighbor told the officer “I know she was terrified of the dark.”
