Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story' (2015)
I haven't had a chance to watch the actual Slender Man movie, so instead I decided to watch a recent knockoff. And who better to turn to for "not Slender Man" movies than my new favorite shit production company, Gravitas. These are the same people who brought us Tall Men and Awaken The Shadow Man, and other such "not Slender Man" knockoffs. Thus, I was thrilled to find out that the people who secured the rights to Slender Man, failed to secure the rights to Marble Hornets, so Gravitas picked them up. If you know anything about the history behind the Slender Man Creepypasta, you know that most of the actual video content was in the Marble Hornets project. So Hollywood clearly failed to do their fucking research and Gravitas benefited.

The Thirteen Most Terrifying Ghosts of the Ghostbusters Cartoons
Originally broadcast from 1986 to 1992, The Real Ghostbusters is one of the most fondly remembered and beloved children's cartoon series ever. Based on the original 1984 movie, Ghostbusters, it reworked the characters and concepts to make them more acceptable for impressionable young minds. Well, in theory at least... In reality, The Real Ghostbusters featured an array of phantasms and nightmare scenarios that would chill a generation of kids and stick in their minds forever. The early years of the series (the original thirteen-episode season and the very long syndicated run that followed, here referred to as season two) in particular pulled no punched when presenting children with genuinely chilling monsters and stories. While the series became more overtly aimed at younger children as it went on, even some of the later episodes featured memorably unsettling baddies. In 1997, the sequel series Extreme Ghostbusters arrived, and its creators seemed to be on a mission to make the most gruesome horror material that they could legally get away with on children's television.

Her Spirit Awaits (Pt. 1)
“The day started off like any other day. There was a crisp, autumn feel in the air. Perfect sweater weather. The scent of pumpkin spice filled the hallways, typical. Everyone was on their way to class. Everything was normal. No one was acting any different, they had no reason to. Except for him, Allen Foster, but he always acted weird. He majored in journalism and was very dedicated to his stories. He had gotten in trouble a few times already for going a little too far. It seemed like there wasn’t anything that kid wouldn’t do for a good story. His current topic was no different. The Clara Brooks Building of Performing Arts. The building had been shut down since the 60s, so it was strange that it was still there. The school used to do monthly tours, but then suddenly stopped. Why hadn’t it been renovated or torn down? Why was it shut down in the first place? Allen needed to find out. All he could do was breathe in the mystery surrounding the place, because the building was restricted. Too many weird things happened around it, so they cut off access to it. Allen didn’t care, though. This story could make or break him and he was determined to be the person that finally solved the mystery of…”

The Man Who Shook
I felt the usual breeze of the passing train as I stood waiting for mine. It was a quarter until 11 when I realized that I was one of a few people at the station that night. There were some other business-type people like me to my left, standing a good distance away. But a few feet to my right was an old man in a long woolen, gray coat and a brown hat. He was hunched over, staring at the ground. He was shaking terribly as if he were cold.

I'd first like to thank the Greenville Drive-In for the good times I had over the last few months and for the double feature they played on their last day this year. If you're in the local NY Capital Region or around Greenville NY, these guys play the best movies. See their FB page. They'll open again May 2019.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Chernobyl Diaries' (2012)
Can we really call this Chernobyl Diaries? It's a one shot. And while it's in the spirit of shaky camera found footage, it's not. So what about this movie inspired the producer to add 'Diaries' to the title? Semantics...

Mr. Addams's Family
In the beginning, there was the woman. Not just any woman, that woman. That woman standing with her hip held akimbo in the parlor of her decaying Victorian mansion. A mask of politeness hung about her face, trying to urge a vacuum cleaner salesman to turn on his heels and retreat back past her front door. A “ruined beauty,” Charlie would call her. The woman with a dress as black as night that hugged every curve of her skeletal figure before pooling down at the floor, reaching like the tentacles of something monstrous. The woman with blood red nails, long enough to pluck your eyeballs from your very skull if she had a mind to. That woman with skin as pale as a tomb. In the beginning, she was standing there, staring up from the page at him, smirking, as though she knew something he never would.
