The Birth of Freddy Krueger
Halloween is coming so it is appropriate to mention some of the scariest horror movie characters. When writers are born, you could also say their characters are born, because eventually these writers will make their characters come to life.

I Got Shudder for a Month. Is It Worth It?
It was April 2019. I had recently watched Jordan Peele's Us, and had heard about a documentary he was featured in called Horror Noire. It sounded cool, but the only way to watch the documentary was a new streaming service called Shudder, which focuses on horror, cult, and genre movies. So I signed up for a week long free trial, but at the end of the week when I went to cancel my subscription, they offered me a month long free trial. So I said, "What the hell?" I was writing a horror movie at the time, and a little extra inspiration couldn't hurt. So I gave Shudder a try.

Die, Cherie!
The wind was cold by the bay in the winter, but it was warm compared to what Ted and Cherie Marshall were used to. They lived in Central Oregon where there was snow at this time of year, and temperatures sometimes below freezing. They came to San Francisco to visit Cherie’s mother, who Cherie felt she never got to see enough of since moving north with her husband.

Payne of the Bites (Pt. 4)
"The deep down lab assistant ultimately triggered a brainstorm within herself akin to the idea of evolution." The lab assistant's boss, on the other hand, was always being judged by higher-ups on their latest scientific results. It appears that the company for whom this underground science facility was created had strategic goals in mind for its bio warfare speciality. The highly skilled assassin John Wick, the successor of hitman Agent 47, has finally completed his mission. Global satellites had acquired images of a mysterious monster roaming Mexico's southern borders.

What It REALLY Means If Horror Movies Scare You
Human beings love being scared. That's why we watch so many horror movies! But have you ever wondered why we watch movies about scary things that don't exist, like Frankenstein's monster and evil inhuman nuns, rather than stuff that does? In terms of body count, heart attacks beat out Freddy Kreuger so badly that there's not even a contest! Why aren't there horror movies about those?

Witchy Movies for Halloween
Let’s face it, Halloween is one of the biggest holidays in the US and there isn’t much we can do about it. It’s not as popular as Christmas, but it’s still big and there. So, why not have a cozy girls’ night in and enjoy a movie marathon? Have to hand out candy? Throw in some popcorn and a great movie. Have a couple of free nights and don’t want to go out? You need a movie.

Another 5 Horror Sequels We're Still Waiting to See
Ok, so over a year ago I penned an article called ‘Top Five Horror Sequels We’re Still Waiting to See.’ Number two was 28 Months Later and number one was Candyman Four. Since the article was published, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland announced that they’re moving forward with a 28 Days Threequel and Jordan Peele has started production on a ‘spiritual sequel’ to Candyman.

5 Freaky Podcasts to Download
Originally published on simplygitana.com. I like to start celebrating seasons early. Christmas movies come out November 1st. Halloween vibes come out September 1st. That's how I do it. That way when the season's over I don't have to feel like, "Oh my god it's over already?"

Murders at Bear Lake
CHAPTER 3 Chief Tom Drake is a little on the chunky side and balding, but he is a fair man with a heart of gold, as the town folk would say. Chief Drake could be firm when he had to be in order to keep law and order in his town, especially if someone broke the law. He was born and raised in Willow’s Ridge, which happens to be a rather small town where everybody knows everybody. He became Sheriff when he was twenty-four years old, but at the age of thirty-five, he became Chief. He has never seen such a mess as this in his whole time of being in law enforcement. Crimes like this just don’t happen in this town. You might have an occasional loud party thrown by the local teenagers, or a small fight between two rowdy boys, but never such a crime as murder.

'Itsy Bitsy' (2019) Review
I hate movie trailers. When cut well, they can make a horribly drab dullard appear competent and atmospheric. Sometimes, they look more like the movie the filmmaker set out to make than the finished product does. That’s especially the case with Itsy Bitsy, a 2019 horror movie written and directed by Micah Gallo (Massacre Lake, Scavengers).

Murders at Bear Lake
Chapter 2 As he walked through town, he passed one of the clothing outlet stores. The little old ladies were shopping from the outside and spreading gossip about everything and everybody. As he passed by, he couldn’t help but hear that he became the number one topic for the moment.
