CH 5

They heard some whispering along their way. Nia checked the temperature of the stairs with the thermal camera and saw that the temperature was rising too fast. Carlos also noticed that and stopped Nia from moving forward. Carlos, “let’s slowly walk backward while observing the camera.” They started walking backwards and saw two different temperatures just like their first visit. They slowly hide themselves on the side and watched the stairs through camera only. Out of nowhere many students started going to the first floor. Carlos and Nia saw no change in camera but in front of their eye's students were on the stairs. Suddenly one boy fell from the stairs but never reached the end. Carlos after chuckling nervously, “let’s go and meet this ghost. I am done with these illusions or memory fragments whatever...” Nia, “If we die no one will know where to find us.” Carlos looked at Nia and grinned.

“GET OUT, GET OUT” whispers echoed on the hallway of first floor. Nia and Carlos were ready for any situation right now. Nia turned on the corridor lights. They entered the first classroom and tried to get a good look of the room through their torch. They only saw desks and benches and moved to the next room. They heard a loud ‘thud’ sound from the second classroom and all the benches suddenly filled with students studying. As Carlos and Nia tried to peek inside the classroom, they saw a blurry figure standing near the board started walking in their direction. Nia and Carlos hold each other hand stood on the door and watched that blurry figure almost becoming transparent right before reaching them. All the student started staring at them.

Carlos said, “Come-on kindly stop scaring me”. The illusion disappeared and the classroom turned dark. Nia turned on the light of the classroom and all of a sudden, all the windows got open. They were observing the class as the blackboard fall on the ground and the words written there were. “WELCOME TO THE OLD MEMORIAL HIGH, FRIENDS” …

Nia, “Let’s stay the night”

Carlos, “I understand your excitement. Let’s just explore the school grounds first”. Nia ignored Carlos words and observed the board and its surroundings. Then they decided to explore the school grounds. They didn’t find anything unusual. Carlos suggested to go back home but Nia said, “I meant it when I said we are going to stay. Let’s check the other buildings.”

They went to the first building from the left of the main building and discussed about how every time they encounter something which doesn’t really have any connections to the rumors. Carlos pointed out that maybe people didn’t explore as much we did after that tragedy. Nia suggested that they should come in the evening and tried to confirm that the vision on the second floor and first floor happens again or not.

Carlos, “The first-floor vision was mostly same except that blurry figure and staircase vision. We probably saw the continuation of the vision.” Nia, “you are right, let’s check every room of this building.”

Even after spending almost an hour in the new building, they didn’t find anything and went to the other building. Carlos looked at his watch and said, “It’s just half past eight. Let’s just stay till midnight today.” No response came from Nia’s side. He turned to the side for checking on her but Nia was not by his side.
