The Powerful Secrets of Nazi: Inbreeding

During the Third Reich under the leadership of Adolf Hitler, Nazi Germany engaged in barbaric and horrific acts in pursuit of a delusional belief in a superior Aryan race. The individuals behind these ideas were determined to promote a racially pure population and engaged in abhorrent acts while attempting to preserve what they believed to be the master race. However, critical thinking was not valued under Hitler's regime. Out of this warped idea of an Aryan race came the concept of inbreeding, which is now outlawed in most countries around the world.
To truly understand the idea of a master race, it is necessary to delve into the psyche of Adolf Hitler, arguably the worst man who has ever lived. Hitler was obsessed with the idea of a hierarchical race structure and saw the Aryan race, typically defined as blonde, blue-eyed, and taller than average, as possessing perfect attributes. Hitler believed that to achieve his bizarre dream, he would need to begin a program of inbreeding to eventually weed out other less desired races.
The breeding program was seen as a way to achieve racial purity, a key propaganda tool used to spread the belief that Germans were part of the upper Mensch, which translates literally to higher human. The Nazis viewed the non-Aryan populace as inferior and sought to get rid of people from Roma, black, and Jewish backgrounds, among others. Inbreeding was seen as a way to achieve this goal.
The Lebensborn program was another tool used by the Nazis to promote Aryan reproduction. Anyone who fits the Aryan profile, i.e., blonde, blue-eyed, and of firm stature, was encouraged to procreate with others of the same racial profile. Those targeted by the Lebensborn program included SS officers and citizens of countries such as Denmark and Norway, which were both occupied by the Nazis.
Selective breeding was also promoted by the Nazis, with a program designed to bring Aryan men and women together who were seen as having desirable traits and features. Nordic peoples were often at the forefront of Hitler's thinking when it came to selective breeding. Marriages that did not adhere to the strict racial rules laid out by the Third Reich were often prohibited, and many couples were forced underground.
The Nazi propaganda machine was one of the biggest assets during the Second World War and the decade that preceded it. Joseph Goebbels, Reich Minister of Propaganda from 1933 to 1945, was instrumental in highlighting the importance of Aryan superiority and maintaining a sense of racial purity. Goebbels sanctioned the use of propaganda material depicting Aryan families living the ideal life and regurgitated Hitler's views on Aryans being the perfect race.
The Nuremberg Laws, dreamed up by Hitler himself during his incarceration, came into effect in 1935. These anti-Semitic laws greatly impacted the Jewish population of Germany and later the wider European region, prohibiting people of Jewish descent from marrying or even having relations with non-Jewish people.
The Nazis were advocates of pseudoscience and actually believed in a type of racial science in an attempt to convince the world of Aryan racial superiority. They used things like eugenics to promote certain Aryan features and discourage the reproduction of individuals who might not have had these largely unrealistic traits. The Nazi thugs also promoted the concept of racial hygiene, subjecting people from undesirable races to forced sterilization and even euthanasia in extreme cases.
The Nazi period of rule was a horrific period for many people across Europe and beyond, and many groups suffered. Hitler's desired Aryan race was often reduced to a footnote in the story whenever the Third Reich is spoken of. While these people were often given privileges that their peers at the time were not allowed, they were also subject to some pretty horrific practices themselves. The Nazi idea of inbreeding and their other pseudoscientific beliefs should have never been inflicted on anybody in the first place.
