The Most Famous Real Swords in The World:

Real Swords

By Best Information Published 2 years ago 4 min read

On the surface, real swords are just weapons; useless, metal objects that do a great deal of damage in an instant by cutting off your head or sticking into your guts. However, as long as swords have existed, men and women have created tales and legends around them. The ideal sword is like a fine wine in this sense: it becomes all the tastier with time.

Primary Purpose of Making Swords

Real Swords are seldom used for crime but have been part of cultures around the world for thousands of years. Swords have been virtually replaced by firearms today, but many still like to collect antique swords as an investment.

Historically, swords were used for self-defense and as a means of military conquest. Swords were also important weapons in battles and duels where they often had magical powers such as repelling bullets or blades respectively. With the wide variety available in terms of design from short broadswords to long rapiers, it is easy to find a sword that suits your needs while still maintaining historical value.

A sword commonly has a long blade, a handle, and a curved or tapered tang that fits into the gilt and secures the blade. The handle can be made of different materials like wood, metal, or plastic. It is believed that the first swords were created between 6000 to 7000 years ago for hunting purposes by prying the sharpened teeth off of animal bones.

Since then swords have quickly become an essential part of many cultures across the world. During ancient times European knights wore their swords at all times as part of their armor and sometimes even slept with them next to them on their beds.

Real Swords are Unique Weapons:

The real quality of a sword is not found in the extremes of its beautiful appearance or the power it provides when used. There are no absolute rules when it comes to what a sword is, or what kind of sword one can own. Did you know that there exist swords with a length of 1m and swords as short as 50cm?

The term "sword" can be used to refer to all sorts of weapons, but there are some qualities that make a sword more than just an object. What follows is a list of those qualities and their meanings:

Elegant Designs

Swords usually have an elegant design and are very elegant weapons. They are a symbol of the Nippon culture inherited from the samurai.

Symbol of Martial Arts

Swords have an unbeatable value and are a symbol of Japanese martial arts.

Significant Part of History

Swords are also considered works of art and are an important part of Japanese history. They have real meaning behind them and can actually be used as weapons.

Magnificent Looks

The most valued swords nowadays are made by hand, like the ones you see in museums. These swords were created using traditional techniques and they really look magnificent.

The Most Famous Real Swords:

In the past 1000 years, humans have created a wide variety of swords. There are as many different types of real swords used in battle as there are people. The most famous swords are Japanese Katana Swords, Ninja Swords, and Samurai Swords. These weapons have evolved not only in form but also in function over time.

Japanese Katana Swords

A Japanese katana sword is an ornamental weapon that was traditionally made to be carried by elite warriors during battle or worn on ceremonial occasions. Because of this, katana swords were not intended to be used in combat, even though various forms of them have been used in that way.

In contrast to European longswords and European-style cutting swords, which are designed primarily for cutting, the Japanese katana was used primarily for slashing and thrusting. Most katana were two-handed weapons, but a smaller number were single-handed.

The blades had a length of around 80 inches (203 cm), with the blade being around 30 to 50 cm wide (11-19 inches). Typically, katana had a blade length of 61 to 71 cm and a blade width of 20 cm.

Ninja Swords:

Ninja swords are considered to be the legendary weapons of the Yagyū family, which comprise more than six hundred hands and one thousand one hundred ninjas in the public eye today. The Yagyū family created many of these swords in different eras.

However, over time competition between the families resulted in the eventual loss of some most important inheritances. During times when they faced extinction, they used their unique skills and developed more advanced forms of ninja swords that were created solely for combat purposes yet retained their ceremonial value. Such weapons are referred to as ninja swords.

Samurai Swords:

The samurai sword is said to have been created in the 7th century. During this period, warfare in Japan was rife and Japanese opponents were using swords that were very different from the later katana.

Because of this, the samurai sword became a weapon used for fighting battles and showing that an individual was indeed a warrior at that time. Over time, the weapons evolved with technology and changed significantly from what they had been originally.

Real Swords are Important Historical Parts!

Civilizations have been forged and conquered with real swords. Soldiers and warriors depended on them to protect themselves in battle, princes and kings used them to show off their stature, while civilians used swords as hunting tools or for self-defense.

With the invention of firearms, swords became obsolete in war - but they remained popular in many civilian activities like fencing or reenacting. Many early swords were made from bronze, but later swordsmiths began to use iron or steel to make stronger swords that could be used for battle. Swordsmiths also came up with a way to strengthen the blades by using quenching.

The hilt of a sword is the handle and everything else attached to the blade. Because swords are usually swung, rather than thrust like a dagger, they need a solid grip that can withstand vigorous movement. The pommel helps balance out the weight of the blade and keeps it from wobbling in your hand.
