Hello, friends!

13th June 2025, at 3 AM, more than 200 Israeli fighter jets entered Iranian airspace. They were targeting more than 100 nuclear, military, and infrastructure targets. This was a coordinated attack.

Breaking news in the Middle East now escalating fears of an all-out war in the region.

Around 80 people were killed. 320 were injured. Most of them were average, innocent civilians. But among them, some high-profile people were assassinated.

The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri.

The Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, Hossein Salami.

People associated with Iran's nuclear program were specifically targeted. Nuclear scientists Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, Fereydoon Abbasi.

In total, six scientists were killed.

Israel named this operation Operation Rising Lion.

The strangest thing about this affair was that there was no provocation by Iran. It is true that relations between the two countries have been bad for a long time. Last year, there was a conflict between the two countries. But in this specific instance, Iran hadn't attacked. Israel woke up one day and started bombing Iran.

When Israel was asked for a reason, the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu answered that it was an act of “self-defence.”

“We have risen like lions, to defend ourselves.”

What kind of self-defence is this where Israel was the one to attack first?

They said that they had suspicions that Iran was close to making nuclear weapons.

On 31st May 2025, the United Nations' nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency confidential report was leaked. It mentioned that Iran has about 400 kg of 60% enriched uranium—enough to make 10 nuclear weapons.

Iran doesn’t even have any nuclear weapons yet, but they “might.” America and Israel used this possibility to target Iran.

There are two interesting things here. First, Donald Trump cancelled the existing nuclear deal with Iran. Second, Netanyahu’s ongoing corruption trial in Israel.

On the night of 13th June, Iran responded by attacking Israel with dozens of missiles and drones. Some places in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem were hit. Over the next few days, Israel and Iran kept attacking each other. Innocent people lost their lives on both sides.

Trump demanded that Iran agree to unconditional surrender. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded that Iran would not surrender under any circumstances.

On 21st June, about 125 American planes entered Iranian airspace targeting nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan using bunker buster bombs, including the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator, deployed via the B-2 Spirit.

Trump declared the mission a complete success, claiming Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities were obliterated.

On 23rd June, Iran retaliated by targeting the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Flights across the Middle East were halted temporarily, sparking fears of World War 3.

The very next day, Trump announced a complete ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

Each side declared victory. Trump portrayed himself as a peacemaker and openly hinted at deserving a Nobel Prize. Netanyahu also claimed total victory, stating Israel destroyed Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Surveys showed strong Israeli support for the attack, while Netanyahu’s corruption trials—where he said “I don’t remember” 1,778 times—were again delayed.
