How shopping malls are still important!
In the modern era...TODAY

Shopping malls are still the places where people buy things for their daily needs, and to have fun.
-Shopping malls were becoming an area where in one whole area you could get your food, clothing, medication, footwear, etc. in the early 1960's. As time progressed more things were added to make the shopping mall, a "one-stop shop."
-In the 1970's the shopping mall was getting into the style of Brick walls and dark brown floor tiles. This also was the style of adding movie theaters and mom-and-pop businesses which some of them turned into franchise businesses today.
-In the early to mid-1980's shopping malls were getting renovated...or brand-new shopping malls were being built. To replace the Brick walls and the dark brown floor tiles, white drywall, and colored floor tiles were installed. Not just that "skylights" were also added to give the mall more natural light which was lacking in the 70s. Food courts were becoming the real deal, and Arcades and gaming stores were becoming a big thing for the youth at the time, which also were added to the malls as well.
-Shopping malls in the 2000's were starting to transform into the modern era of malls today. Building off of what the 1980's renovations of shopping malls have done, Movie theaters were being demolished or the space of the area was being blocked off, even more, skylights were being built, modernized drywall was either replacing the old ones or adding brand new ones. Arcades were on their way out but gaming stores were becoming bigger and bigger, and more electronic phone stores were coming out, including "Apple & Samsung" Floortiles either stayed the same from the 80s or being replaced with brand new modern floortiles, Food courts were getting expanded even more with options and modern restaurants.
-And today...shopping malls are still popular but with online shopping being mainstream now, it could hurt shopping malls in the long run. Amazon is mainly the go-to place for people to order their items without having to go to a "physical" store, it even has Amazon Prime which makes shipping the item...even faster to your mailbox or doorstep. There is even another website called "Temu" (to shop like a millionaire) which has more options and better deals than even Amazon. Supermarkets and restaurants have caught on to this trend as well, instead of going to a market to buy the food you can order it online and have it delivered to your doorstep. This is making "Big Box Stores" go bankrupt or shut their stores because people are not coming in as much as they used to it's even more terrible if that "Big Box Store" is a leading anchor and attached to said shopping mall, it could lose a lot of traffic that was coming into the shopping mall in the first place.
-Shopping malls were made for the community where people would talk and eat and play and get to know other people. Malls have in-store deals, not even online shopping, malls also have events that take place that involve the community. Games and giveaways even famous people would come and visit and sing their songs.
-Malls these days also have problems when it comes to protection, the crimes that happen inside the mall have been increasing since the 90s. Stabbing, shooting, gang vs. gang fight, stealing, and more. This is why some malls have police stations added to shopping malls but is it enough to reduce the crimes and put an end to them
Shopping malls are great, they have their issues but they are VERY important to the history of this world...but it's not what it used to be back in the day...

I agree. If all the shopping malls close, there wouldn't be any place to go walk around when its raining or in the winter.
