Lakewood report resembles another 'Tic-Tac' incident

A skywatcher in Lakewood reported to the National UFO Reporting Center in December that they saw a metallic disc in the sky. According to the report, the object “hovered silently, glided side-to-side, then shot upward at high speed—unlike any known aircraft.”

The report continued, “It was a circular-shaped object, kind of like a disc. The color was gray with a silver shine, almost metallic when light hit it.” According to the spotter, “At first, it was staying completely still in one spot. It didn’t drift or wobble like a drone or helicopter. After a few seconds, it started moving side to side, but very smoothly—almost like it was gliding. There was no sound at all, not even a hum.”

The spotter snapped a photo of the phenomenon. It was shaped like a Tic-Tac as many UFOs reported nationwide are. “The object stayed in view for about a minute,” the spotter reported. “It moved left and right slowly at first, then paused, and then suddenly shot upward really fast until I couldn’t see it anymore. The movement didn’t look like anything a normal plane or drone could do.”

Orbs spotted in Golden

At 1:21 p.m. Dec. 8 in Golden, a report came into the center of orbs rotating in a circular motion. Starlink satellites have been reported to move this way, but this spotting remains unexplained. According to the report, the skywatcher saw “three to five orbs darting around and randomly disappearing and reappearing in front of the moon. You could see they had halos around them. I watched for about three minutes and then they disappeared. When I looked away they had such bright lights it affected my eyesight.

Sighting in Centennial

A UFO sighting in Centennial was reported to the center at 9:24 p.m. Dec. 14. The spotters said they saw three round lights in a triangle formation. “We were lying on the trampoline, watching the meteor shower and noticed the formation moving from a northeast to a southwest direction,” according to the report. “It was silent and fast only observable for about three seconds. Straight above us.”

Sightings in the Springs

The National UFO Reporting Center received two reports Dec. 19 of white flashes in the sky over Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. Both reports came at 4:30 a.m. and were made from land. A video of the incident shows the lights disappearing and reappearing erratically.

The Colorado Springs report references a “large flashing light in sky which was jumping around in altitude and direction so not moving in linear fashion like a plane. Cannot determine distance but was over mountains just Northwest of Cheyenne Mountain direction.”

A report at the same time from Manitou Springs described a “very bright flash in periphery of my eye,” the spotter explained. He said he “looked toward it and noticed it would flash in one spot, go dim, then flash in different spot, location erratic and non-linear. Up, down, right, left.” He said he ran inside to get his cell phone and missed several seconds….”

The spotter did take a video. The flashes in the video are similar to those from the video taken in Colorado Springs.

Some reports explained

Colorado Springs residents frequently report hearing loud sounds and seeing lights in the sky due to the city being the site of a military base. Reports of UFO activity always is higher around military bases, according to an article in Interesting Engineering.

One UFO reported to the center from Denver in December ended up being a balloon, according to the center. Another reported in Colorado Springs was a Starlink satellite sighting, according to the center.
