Ancient Egyptians and Giants in the Grand Canyon
The Legend of an Underground City
In the early 1900s, G.E. Kincaid, an archeologist for the Smithsonian, was rumored to have found Egyptian ruins in a city with the tunnels of the Grand Canyon.
President Woodrow Wilson made the Grand Canyon a national park on February 26, 1919, which would protect the land and resources found within the park and is now managed by the National Park Service. However, before this happened, G. E. Kincaid wanted to explore the Grand Canyon and see what was there.
He traveled down the Green and Colorado Rivers on an expedition to discover the Western States and find minerals. While Kincaid was exploring, there is a legend that he found a city underneath/inside the Grand Canyon, or at least according to the Arizona Gazette.
On April 5, 1909, the Arizona Gazette ran a new story titled:
Explorations in Grand Canyon; Mysteries of Immense Rich Cavern Being Brought to Light; Jordan Is Enthused; Remarkable Find Indicates Ancient People Migrated from Orient."
It was said that approximately 40 miles from El Tovar Crystal Canyon, Kincaid saw a strange and discolored change in the sediment formation along the river, Kincaid decided to investigate. While walking, he found steps leading up to a shelf in the canyon; the steps were carved out of sandstone.
When Kincaid reached the top of the stairs, there was an entrance to a cave that appeared to be manmade. Kincaid entered the cave, and when he turned on his light, he saw ancient Egyptian writing on the walls. As Kincaid went deeper into the tunnel, he noticed chisel marks on the walls; however, he continued.
Kincaid also kept very detailed notes of what he saw while walking through the cave and recorded:
¨The main passageway is about 12 feet wide, narrowing to nine feet toward the farther end. About 57 feet from the entrance, the first side passages branch off to the right and left, along which, on both sides, are several rooms about the size of ordinary living rooms of today, though some are 30 by 40 square feet.¨
At this point, he knew he was inside a large building or complex, and he believed at least 50,000 people could have lived in the structure. He even found some rooms contained pottery on shelves, cooking areas, and even a dining room space.
Kincaid also found artifacts, which he did take a few out of the cave to examine later. Kincaid also thought he saw a room for metalworking; the area contained tools made of copper and metal.
As Kincaid continued to explore, it is said he stumbled upon a crypt. Inside the tomb were mummies stacked on each other, and dozens of rows were found. At this point, he knew he would need more help to explore the underground city and sent a few of the artifacts he saw to the Smithsonian to be examined.
He requested support and said this could be the most crucial archaeological find ever, and the Smithsonian sent help, as well as Professor S.A. Jordan. Jordan showed up with researchers, scientists, and manpower to explore; approximately 40 people showed up to explore the underground city.
The scientists discovered the tunnels were laid out in a specific design, which led to a big central chamber with a big center statue similar to Buddha's.
Who lived in these tunnels inside the Grand Canyon?
The team discovered hundreds of rooms, enough for an entire group of people to live. Most of the rooms were empty, but they did find artifacts made of copper, metal bronze, and even a metal that scientists were unsure of, possibly platinum.
They found urns and tablets that were engraved with hieroglyphics. However, no one on-site could identify the writing or who lived there. It appeared to be a lost, advanced civilization.
They also believed the civilization arrived in the Grand Canyon and were not native to the area. When sent to the Smithsonian, they hypothesized that an ancient civilization existed in the Grand Canyon thousands of years before the native americans.
Kincaid wanted to search the area more to see where they came from; however, the Smithsonian denied the request, and Jordan and Kincaid were never heard from again.
Native American Theory
For years, the Grand Canyon has been a place of spiritual significance for the Hopi, Navajo, and Apache tribes. According to Hopi mythology, the world's first people entered through a reptilian race.
When the reptilians emerged from the Grand Canyon, they changed into humans. Whereas some tribes believe in the reptilian race, others believe they are a race of giants. There have been giant discoveries in the western United States, but much has been hidden. Many believe the Smithsonian has hidden it.
However, the mystery remains about how they get to the middle of the US, as it is not near water. As well as building a city underneath the Grand Canyon, the Hopi have a legend about The Ant People.
The Hopi believe they are small humanoid creatures with pale skin and big eyes, insectlike. The Hopi legend states that a series of cataclysmic events hit the earth thousands of years ago, and the Hopi were going to be destroyed.
Then, a sky god emerged from a moving star, bringing the Hopi tribe to the ant people, who brought them to the underground caves for protection.
Almost every ancient culture has a flood myth, and in some cultures, they talk about a godlike creature that came down from the sky to help. The gods then gave humans the gift of civilization.
The gods taught the humans things forgotten after the flood, writing, astronomy, and agriculture—some question whether this underground city was once used to protect an ancient civilization from the great floods.
However, unfortunately, the above is only a myth and theory from the article published in the Phoenix Gazette. Researchers have also determined it to be a hoax, a story to sell newspapers, except many believe it is a Smithsonian coverup.
When AJ from the Why Files called the Smithsonian, the receptionist went on to say, before he even asked a question, the woman, Marion, stated:
No Egyptian Artifacts have ever been found in North America or South America.
She says that the Smithsonian has never been involved in anything in the Grand Canyon and gets a similar call a few times a year. She noted that G.E. Kincaid never worked for them, which is a hoax.
G.E. Kincaid says the cavern is nearly inaccessible; the entrance is 1486 feet down the canyon wall. It is also now on government land, and no visitors can explore.
There have been reports that people have found the entrance to the cave. However, it is difficult to explore since the federal government has restricted access to the caves that have been discovered in the Grand Canyon.
Most caves have also been sealed off ¨for your safety¨. Many have even offered to sign a waiver to go in at their own risk, and the government refuses to allow anyone to pass.
Steel gates block some caves, and the government says it is to protect the bat population. Many who have tried to explore have been caught, and helicopters have come as a warning to leave.
However, many have found ventilation holes in the middle of nowhere, which many feel is what Kincaid wrote about when he saw the cave. Even hardware and anchors were found; however, we are told it is to prevent rocks from falling.
Many feel the Smithsonian is a coverup operation. Many feel this is only a hoax. It appears that if something goes to the Smithsonian, it disappears or is lost. It makes you wonder what the actual story is.
