Hello world! Let me introduce myself, I am Ukrainian. And I want to tell you a little about my country. I want you to know about my Motherland not only that it is courageously and desperately fighting for its freedom against a huge monster. I want you to know that this is a country with a huge history and culture, a strong unconquered people, with many achievements. Therefore, I plan to write a series of articles about my region so that you can learn more about what Ukraine is like. Today I will tell you about some very famous inventions of representatives of my people.

Ukrainians made a great contribution to the development of science, technology and culture. Many discoveries of my compatriots changed the world and became part of everyday life. Here are 10 outstanding inventions of Ukrainians that are used all over the world today.

1. Kerosene lamp

In 1853, Lviv pharmacists Ivan Zeg and Yakiv Filemon invented the world's first kerosene lamp. It was a real breakthrough, because thanks to this invention, safe and affordable lighting of houses became possible, which greatly facilitated the lives of millions of people. Kerosene lamps quickly spread throughout the world.

2. Rocket engine

The outstanding Ukrainian scientist Yurii Kondratyuk (real name - Oleksandr Shargei) made a huge contribution to the development of cosmonautics. His ideas were used in the creation of rocket engines and the planning of flights to the moon. Kondratiuk developed the flight path that later became the basis for NASA's famous Apollo mission.

3. Welding technology in space

Evgeny Paton, a prominent Ukrainian engineer, created a method of automatic electric welding that changed construction and industry. His son, Boris Paton, continued his work, and in the 1960s, Ukraine was the first to use welding technology in space. Today, these methods are used in the construction of bridges, ships and even space stations.

4. Streptomycin antibiotic

Zinaida Bismuth, an outstanding Ukrainian scientist, made an important contribution to the discovery of the antibiotic streptomycin. This medicine is used to treat serious diseases such as tuberculosis and infections. Thanks to streptomycin, many people were able to save their lives.

5. PayPal payment system

Max Levchyn, a Ukrainian engineer and entrepreneur, became one of the founders of the well-known PayPal payment system. This service allows you to quickly and safely make purchases on the Internet, transfer money and pay for services. PayPal is used by millions of people around the world today.

6. Cyborg weapons for prostheses

Igor Sikorsky, known as the "father of helicopters", not only created the first mass-produced helicopter, but also contributed to the development of bionic prostheses, which allow people with amputated limbs to restore partial functionality of an arm or leg. This has greatly improved the quality of life for many people around the world.

7. Compact disc (CD)

Ukrainian Ihor Belyaev was one of the developers of CD technology, which for many years was the main way to store music, movies and data. Although CDs aren't as widely used today, they had a huge impact on the entertainment and technology industries in the early 2000s.

8. Insulin in the form of tablets

Valentin Parmon, a Ukrainian chemist, became one of the scientists who worked on the creation of insulin in tablets. This discovery revolutionized the treatment of diabetes, as patients could now take medication in a more convenient form than traditional injections.

9. WhatsApp mobile application

Jan Kum, born in Ukraine, is one of the founders of the popular WhatsApp messenger, which is used by billions of people every day. Thanks to this application, it has become much easier to keep in touch with family and friends, exchange messages, photos and videos.

10. MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging)

One of the pioneers of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology was the Ukrainian scientist Ivan Lyshchyna. MRI is a revolutionary medical diagnostic technique that allows doctors to see detailed images of internal organs and tissues without surgical intervention. Today, MRI is used in all countries to detect various diseases.
