'Y&R' viewers wonder if there is a "Chance" of Abby's husband returning to Genoa City

On The Young and the Restless, Abby Newman Chancellor has been mentioning her husband quite a bit and viewers are wondering what this means for her future. Lsdt week she was overjoyed when she received a phone call from Chance and viewers believe this is an indication that Abby's spouse may soon return to Genoa City. Fans of the couple are overwhelmingly saying he should be there for her during the birth of their child. Devotees of Y&R have been confused about this storyline because it has taken many strange twists and turns.

Spoiler alerts have not given any definite answers to the questions that viewers have regarding Victor’s daughter and Nina’s son. This leaves those who enjoy the CBS daytime drama trying to read between the lines and figure it out for themselves. Things took an unrealistic twist when both Chance and his wife each found out they were unable to have a baby, for different reasons. Abby's body was damaged and her husband had a low sperm count. They were considering a surrogate when suddenly Chance was sent out of town on a secret mission.

Fans were perplexed that the storyline would remove Abby’s spouse at such a pivotal time. There is also the fact that they are newlyweds and only begun their journey of matrimony. Donny Boaz who portrayed Jill's grandson announced that he had been let go from his Y&R contract but was told his character would not be recast. This caused some who watch the CBS daytime drama to ponder that Boaz might be called back to the role at some future point. Other viewers believed that Melissa Ordway's real life spouse Justin Gaston might be hired as Chance because he stepped into the character when Boaz had COVID-19.

The chemistry between Gaston and Ordway was noticed by viewers and Justin said he was open to returning to The Young and the Restless.The next thing that was revealed is that The Young and the Restless was looking for an actor to play a 30 something male character which led to speculation that the role of Chance was going to someone totally new. There still has been no news regarding who this new character will be or when he will arrive in Genoa City. Since Boaz was told his role would not be recast and Abby has been communicating with her spouse there is one other possibility but tragic outcome.

Im a worst case scenario, Chance Chancelor could die off screen while completing his mission. No one wants to see that happen but if no one else takes on the roll, and Donny Boaz is not called back, Abby’s husband cannot indefinitely remain on a special assignment. He would have to come home, or divorce her and move on. Chance does not seem like the type to abandon his wife and child so either he returns to Genoa City or meets an untimely death.Viewers should take note of the village that is supporting Abby at this point which is quite unusual.

She had her mother Ashley of course but her mother in law Nina has moved in with her at the Chancrllor mansion. Her surrogate is Mariah who comes as a package deal with Tessa. That’s a lot of women to be involved with one baby. There is also the fact that good friend Devon is the sperm donor and more than likely he will be in the picture as well. There will no doubt be a lot of drama as well as comedy with this motley crew of 6.Could The Young and the Rextledd be setting Abby up to become a widow and all the people named above will assist in raising her child? There really is no way to know what the writers are intending with this unconventional pregnancy. Hopefully there will soon be some clarity related to the direction this storyline is headed and viewers will gain clarity.
