Watch Funke Akindele React to "Omo Ghetto (The Saga)" Being The Biggest Movie of All Time
She did it!

She did it!
In an unprecedented time when no one could have seen this happening, Nigerian actor and producer Funke Akindele-Bello created what has now become the highest grossing Nigerian movie of ALL TIME!
It’s a HUGE DEAL!
Especially because of the times that we find ourselves. For her to break this record at a normal, no-lockdown or quarantine time would still be applaudable. But to do it during a time like this – it’s nothing short of incredible!

Prior to Funke Akindele’s Omo Ghetto (The Saga) breaking the record, EbonyLife’s 2016 movie The Wedding Party had been sitting happily at the top of the list for 4 WHOLE YEARS.
The Wedding Party made N453,000,000 and believe it or not, Omo Ghetto (The Saga) actually beat it by a lot.
Are you ready to see how much money the movie made as well as reactions from not only Funke Akindele herself but also her celebrity friends? Then let’s go!

How much did the movie make?
I know this is what you’ve been waiting for.
Well, before I tell you how much Omo Ghetto (The Saga) made, I’ll tell you how much the four before it made – just so you understand the magnitude of the number.
The fifth highest-grossing movie, the insanely good Sugar Rush released in 2019 made N287,053,270.
The fourth highest-grossing movie, EbonyLife’s Chief Daddy released in 2018 grossed a whooping N387,540,749 – a hundred million naira more than Sugar Rush.
The third highest-grossing movie, The Wedding Party 2 released in 2017 made N433,197,377 – another huge jump from Chief Daddy.
The previous highest-grossing movie, The Wedding Party released in 2016 made N453,000,000 – an incredible number that nobody thought another Nigerian movie would beat in a while.
Until Funke Akindele Bello’s Omo Ghetto (The Saga) came like a whirlwind and made N463,036,300!

WHAT?!
And do you want to know what’s crazier? The movie is STILL showing in cinemas and just opened up screening in Dubai meaning that it still has more weeks to make more money.
It is an incredible time to be Funke Akindele-Bello and I could not be happier for her. She made an amazing movie!
That’s All.
