Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl - A Movie Review
'Vengeance Most Fowl' is one epic fun time.

Wait until you see what else the Norbots can do.
Vengeance Most Fowl is a 2024 film to the Wallace and Gromit franchise. Wallace tinkers with his latest invention, Norbot, a high-tech robot that does several chores. When the invention takes a peculiar turn and frames Wallace for suspicious crimes, Gromit seizes action to see who is behind it all.
I am an immense Wallace and Gromit fan. I have lost track of how many times I have watched the movies. The signature theme music always makes me dance. Counting down the days for the latest film, Vengeance Most Fowl soars in its impeccable stop-motion animation, however, there are fragments in the story, lacking in originality.
Wallace and Gromit are a dynamic duo. Though, one may say that this is Gromit’s film. Since Matter of Loaf and Death, Wallace has been sidelined more, leading most of the action to Gromit.
Gromit is one of the best silent characters. His expressions speak volumes and he is a super sleuth like no other. There are so many subtleties about his character, like how he is not perfect, often messing up.
Wallace is an intelligent inventor, but his gullibility and oblivious nature have gone on too long. He deserves a stronger arc. For example, his passion for inventing is confiscated. We could have explored this low point, especially why he loves inventing. Thankfully, Wallace is resourceful in the climax, putting his love for inventing to good use.
Ben Whitehead fills the inventor shoes of the late Peter Sallis as the new voice of Wallace. Whitehead’s vocals are reminiscent of Sallis. He does a remarkable job in the role. Peter Kay returns as P.C. Macintosh. New voice credits include Lauren Patel, Reece Shearsmith, Diane Morgan, Anjoa Andoh, Muzz Khan, Lenny Henry, and additional voices.
Did you know that Feathers McGraw wasn’t in the original script? To figure out how Norbot turns evil, Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham bring back the evil penguin from The Wrong Trousers. As another silent character, Feathers is sinister.
Vengeance Most Fowl contains story elements familiar to The Wrong Trousers. The storyline between the police is funny, but it takes away from Wallace and Gromit. The duo had a heartwarming moment together that made my heart melt. Writers missed opportunities to focus on certain elements, instead, putting in moments of filler.
The film is as funny as ever. The Wallace and Gromit media takes full advantage of background comedy, which is my favorite type of comedy. The norbots make the short with their clever dynamics and sayings.
Vengeance Most Fowl spent five years in production. In a productive week, one minute of footage would be completed. Animators put their hearts into this film in every subtle detail. Stop-motion is not easy and is considered one of the oldest forms of animation. Aardman Animation is doing things with stop-motion that weren’t possible over thirty years ago.
The climax of Vengeance Most Fowl is the most exciting and nail-biting ending. I realized that animators upgraded the epic train chase from Wrong Trousers and transformed it into a boat chase taking place on a massive bridge.
If Vengeance Most Fowl speculates anything, it warns us about technology’s advancements. Similar to Wallace, we have become obsessed with technology. Technology like AI has been gaining momentum with its red flag knowledge. More online scams have occurred with AI technology faking voices and stealing personal information.
Vengeance Most Fowl is one epic fun time. The whole family will enjoy it. I could watch it several more times on Netflix like the previous films.
