Tristan Rogers' final television appearance was on The Young and the Restless
General Hospital fans can see the beloved actor one more time on Tuesday.

Tristan Rogers's final television appearance
General Hospital fans have an opportunity to see Tristan Rogers in his final television scene before his death on August 15. On Tuesday, August 26, the soap vet appeared in flashback scenes on The Young and the Restless, which airs at 12:30 p.m. on CBS. If you are not a Y&R fan, you can catch the episode on YouTube or CBS.com.
Between stints as Robert Scorpio, and sometimes airing on both soaps simultaneously, Roberts portrayed Colin Atkinson, a lovable con man. Colin was married to Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), and they had great chemistry. They fought hard, deceived and betrayed one another, but loved fiercely.
Tuesday's episode is a standalone with only Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), Colin, and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). The Young and the Restless probably waited to air this touching memorial after Rogers died.
In between flashbacks and speaking with Phyllis, Cane leaves video messages for his children with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Charlie, and Mattie. As he thinks about his father, he apologizes for his recent actions and explains why he used the alias Aristotle Dumas.

Colin was a lovable cad
He was a lovable cad and the father of Cane, who at the time was portrayed by Daniel Goddard. Genie Francis, who plays Laura Collins on GH, portrayed Genieve Atkinson, the mother of Cane and ex-wife of Colin.
Atkinson was last seen in Genoa City in November 2019, but when Flynn began portraying Cane in June, he announced that his father had died. Cane also revealed that both he and Jill had a chance to make peace with his father, who had apologized for his transgressions. Y&R viewers had no idea that deathbed scenes had been taped until Monday.
Nonsmokers lung cancer
In July, the veteran actor's family announced that he had cancer and wanted privacy. GH and Y&R fans suspected this meant the beloved actor was not doing well.
After his death, news reports said he was a non-smoker who was diagnosed with non-smoker's lung cancer. This is an illness that seems so unfair, but it happens.
Tristan Rogers says goodbye to Port Charles
On GH, Robert left Port Charles in January but returned for a final appearance in July, one month before he died. It appears Rogers desired to appear on both soaps before he passed away, and the execs granted his request.
On General Hospital, Robert's daughter, Sasha Gilmore (Sophia Mattsson), and her baby, Daisy, arrived in Paris, where he was living with Holly Sutton (Emma Samms).
GH viewers were happy to see the Port Charles DA one final time. On The Young and the Restless, Cane will have a flashback to his final conversation with his dad before he died.

Tristan Rogers exhibited class
The timing of the episodes on both daytime dramas was just right as if it all was divinely orchestrated. Fans are grateful that Rogers had the strength to tape both shows and give them two more chances to see him. He exhibited class in taping scenes where his Y&R character is saying goodbye, knowing he was dying in real time.
Jess Walton shared a classic clip of Jill and Colin, which appeared in TVLine, and had this to say about the man who portrayed her television husband.
"Tristan Rogers was a respected member of the soap opera community, and he was a beloved member of The Young & The Restless family," her tribute begins. "I had the pleasure of being his scene partner for many years. I adored working with him."
"We are reminded of the lasting impact Tristan brought to our show, both on and off screen. He will forever be missed."
General Hospital fans, remember to tune in Tuesday to The Young and the Restless to see Tristan Rogers in his final televised scenes.
