Top Ten Disney Villain Deaths
Disney deaths that were brutal

I am a big fan of Disney movies, everyone who knows me, knows that I am possibly one of the biggest Disney fan out there. Disney movies are however, not all happy go lucky when it comes to killing off their villains. Sometimes, the villain is left alive and other times, they get killed off. Here is a list of my top ten Disney deaths.
10. Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. I think we can agree that we all hated Gaston from the moment we met him. He was smug, arrogant, and stubborn. He tried to get Belle's father into a mental institution and wanted to kill the beast even though the beast (or prince Adam) had never bothered anyone before. Gaston bursts into the castle and then taunts the beast over and over again. He shoots an arrow into his back, throws him out a window and begins the dramatic fight scene. The beast holds Gaston over the ledge and changes his mind, he lets Gaston go without a scratch, but Gaston's ungratefulness takes over and he stabs him in the back. Gaston then falls to his death and is never seen again. Watch the below clip to see for yourself.
9. Hades from Hercules. Hades is one of my favorite villains, with flaming blue hair and his pointed teeth Disney made a pretty terrifying looking character. However, with his smooth talking, he is able to convince anyone to do anything for him. It is no wonder why he the god of the underworld. Hades has his own minions working for him, but his death was quite horrifying. He falls into the sea of souls and immediately they start to grab at him and push him deeper into the depths as he struggles to get out.
In case if you have not watched the movie in a while and needed a reminder, watch the above clip.
8. The death of Maleficent. She was one of the most powerful villains in Disney history. She is a sorceress with great powers, she gets Aurora or Sleeping beauty to prick her finger, just like she promised. Even though the kingdom had burned all spinning wheels that did not stop maleficent from getting what she wanted. The end scene is where it gets intense for Prince Phillip, he stabs her heart with the sword and as Maleficent falls she still tries to snatch at Prince Phillip, but she falls off a cliff and it kills her completely.
7. Ursula from the Little Mermaid death. Ursula the sea witch was always after one thing and that was King Triton's power over the sea. Ursula was a fun villain to watch with her sass and confidence in herself. Her death was one of the most painful death in Disney. She first grows to be a giant octopus woman and while she is busy with trying to kill Ariel. Prince Eric takes his ship and rams it into her stomach and we see lightning strike her at the same time and dies in the sea with a ship.
6. Dr. Facilier death from Princess and the Frog. I was not a fan of Princess and the Frog as a movie, it felt more like a Dreamworks movie than a Disney one. However, Dr. Facilier had one of the best villain songs of all time, in my opinion. Anyways, we know that Dr. Facilier had a deal with the devil and his death was something else. The happy music that plays while the spirits are coming at him is nothing but ironic, especially because they were words from his own song. We see swirling of neon colors and voodoo dolls chase him into the corner. He is then dragged into what I can only assume the fires of hell. My description does not do it justice though ;)
5. Mother Gothel from Tangled. I really enjoyed tangled it had quirky character and a villian who was very good at manipulating to get what she wanted. Mother Gothel pretends to love her kidnapped daughter and she uses Rapunzel's magic hair for her own benefit, she gets rid of her wrinkles and stays alive for what looks like forever. However, Finn's bravery is what kills mother Gothel. Her age immediately shows and her disgrace by throwing her hood over her face and then she trips over Rapunzel's hair and turns to ash as she falls from a great distance.
4. Scar from the Lion King. Scar was a mischievous villain and he got exactly what he wanted, he became king, he started the era of lion and hyena. In the end Simba comes back to avenge his father and he tries to turn everyone against Simba. Then, when that fails he convinces Simba that the hyenas were the problem. When Scar falls down a cliff and survives we think that Scar might still be alive, but that quickly changes when the hyenas attack him and a fire erupts at the bottom killing him and the hyenas. Then all see is the shadow.
3. Queen Grimhilde from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Disguise and death is what makes this villain tick. She first hires a man to kill snow white and when that fails she poisons an apple and disguises herself as an old woman, then when snow white eats it she falls asleep and her Prince comes and rescues her with a magic kiss. The witch is chased up a cliff by all the animals in the forest and the dwarves and of course it is rainy and dark. She tries to dislodge a rock to make it fall onto the dwarves, but then lightning strikes the cliff she is on and not only does she die from the fall, but the rock fell the other way and squishing her like a bug.
2. Clayton from Tarzan. Clayton wanted to tear down a jungle for his own benefit and wanted to capture all the gorillas. His death was striking and shocking for a Disney movie. Tarzan breaks Clayton's shotgun and Clayton gets stuck in the vines as him and Tarzan chase each other. Clayton starts to cut down the vines in order to limit Tarzan from getting away, but then he takes it a little too far and ends up killing himself because of the process. Tarzan tries to warn Clayton that he should stop, but his stubbornness leads him to his death. We then see a shadow of his dead body in the rainy night.
1. Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Frollo was to be seen as somewhat of a holy man, but his desire for Esmeralda was disgusting and creepy. "and he shall smite the wicked and plunge them into the fiery pit" is what Frollo says right before he plunges to his death. It was not the brutal death, but there was so much irony and stimulated fear in his death, so that's why I put it as number one Disney death. Frollo throughout the movie keeps saying quotes from the bible, but he is a hypocrite. He is also the most disliked villain for me.
There you go a list of Disney deaths that are a little dark for Disney. I hoped you enjoyed reading this list and if you did feel free to add a little tip for me below. Cheers!
