The world is mourning the tragic news that actor and director Rob Reiner and his wife, of 36 years, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at their Los Angeles home.
Authorities are investigating the deaths as an apparent homicide, and law enforcement sources indicate that the couple appeared to have suffered stab wounds. The Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery Homicide Division is leading the investigation.

Nick Reiner was born in 1993 and is 32 years old. He has been arrested and taken into custody following the deaths of his parents. He has been booked into the L.A. County jail on suspicion of murder, held on $4 million bail. The Reiner's other children are Romy Reiner, Jake Reiner, and Tracy Reiner, who was adopted.
Nick is a screenwriter who co-wrote the film Being Charlie (2015), which was directed by his father, Rob Reiner. Nick has been publicly open about his long battle with substance abuse and drug addiction, which began when he was a teen. He reportedly entered rehab for the first time around his 15th birthday and had been in rehabilitation facilities more than 17 times by the age of 22.
Rob Reiner achieved national fame for his role as Michael "Meathead" Stivic on the popular CBS sitcom All in the Family (1971–1979).
His character was the liberal son-in-law, who served as a foil to the conservative patriarch, Archie Bunker (Carol O'Connor).
Reiner won two Primetime Emmy Awards for his performance in All in the Family (in 1974 and 1978).Before the hit sitcom, he worked as a writer for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and appeared in small roles on various television shows.
Following his time on All in the Family, Reiner focused on directing, launching an impressive streak of successful and culturally resonant films, many of which he also produced.

Misery (1990): A psychological horror-thriller, also based on a Stephen King novel, which resulted in an Academy Award win for its lead actress.
A Few Good Men (1992): A military courtroom drama that earned Reiner a DGA nomination and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Ghosts of Mississippi (1996): About the 1994 trial of the assassin of civil rights activist Medgar Evers.

Being Charlie (2015): Directed and produced this film, which was co-written by his son, Nick Reiner, and was loosely based on his son's experiences with addiction.

You got it just right It is so tragic to see such a talented man killed along with his wife. No matter what I feel, there is just no excuse whatsoever for a child to kill his parents.
