This Week's Anime Recap: Series I Completed
Week 6 of 52 - Feb 6th-12th

Welcome to another week of completed anime! I struggle with watching shows weekly; I forget what I'm watching and get bored, however, right now, I am watching more shows than I ever thought I would weekly. That said, I watched more anime than I finished this week. However, I finished some pretty amazing anime this week, which I am excited to share with you.

Insomniacs' After School
Storyline: A boy named Ganta and a girl named Isaki are insomniac schoolmates. Both worry about their constant lack of sleep. After a chance meeting in the school's observatory-turned-storage room, the two share secrets, and begin having an unusual connection.Info: 5 episodes are out, and will be airing weekly
Genre: Slice of life, romance, drama
Rating: TV-14
My Review: This anime is the definition of wholesome. I love cute, romantic anime. However, I was shocked at how much depth this show had. We meet our main characters, and they immediately bond over their insomnia. As the show goes on we find out the deeper meaning behind their inability to sleep.
The depth we get from 13 episodes is wild. I was expecting a cute show, and I got so much more. This anime will leave an imprint on your heart that I cannot explain. If you add this anime please put it at the top of your list.

The Case Study of Vanitas
Storyline: Rumors revolving around The Book of Vanitas, a clockwork grimoire of dubious reputation, draw Noé, a young vampire in search of a friend's salvation, to Paris. What awaits him in the City of Flowers, however, is not long hours treading the pavement or rifling through dusty bookshops in search of the tome. Instead, his quarry comes to him…in the arms of a man claiming to be a vampire doctor! Thrust into a conflict that threatens the peace between humans and vampires, will Noé cast in his lot with the curious and slightly unbalanced Vanitas and his quest to save vampirekind?
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Vampires
Rating: TV-14
My Review: I am not one to like vampire-related things. Yes, I watched some vampire shows in the 2010s, like Vampire Night and Diabolik Lovers. Which were weird and cringy and ended up on anime I hated list. However, this anime intrigued me. It looked as if Bungo Stray Dogs was a vampire show. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed the storyline, the romance (Which was a little spicy) the animation, and the character depth. Is it the best show I have ever seen? no. Is it worth watching? I'd say so.

Classroom of the Elite
Storyline: Ayanokouji Kiyotaka has just enrolled at Tokyo Koudo Ikusei Senior High School, where it's said that 100% of students go on to college or find employment. But he ends up in Class 1-D, which is full of all the school's problem children. What's more, every month, the school awards students points with a cash value of 100,000 yen, and the classes employ a laissez-faire policy in which talking, sleeping, and even sabotage are permitted during class. But among all the students who lead such self-indulgent lives, there is one who disagrees with it all and chooses to remain solitary, avoiding contact with others: the beautiful Horikita Suzune. She has figured out that, even though the school gives students huge amounts of money, it also offers many means of "assistance for students with no money." One month later, Ayanokouji, Horikita, and the students of Class D learn the truth of the system in place within their school…
Genre: Drama, Psychological, School
Rating: TV-14
My Review: I didn't connect with this anime. The concept was interesting however I thought it was slow and boring at some points. I finished the first two seasons and it took me almost 3 years to finally watch season 3. I did think season 1 was entertaining, and then season 2 got slow, and I didn't care for season 3 at all. I didn't think it lived up to the hype it got, which was disappointing. I only watched it because I finally wanted it off of my list, so I powered through and finished it.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Classroom of the Elite and if you thought it lived up to the hype it got.

Anime With The Most Shocking Ending
I have a useless talent for being able to guess the ending of any show or movie. I annoy people by spoiling whatever we watch 15 minutes in. When a show or movie can shock me with the ending, I instantly love it. I think not being able to guess the ending shows great writing and creativity. That's one of the reasons I love anime so much. The worlds have unlimited possibilities; even if I think I know how the show will end,d they can completely flip the script for fun, kill the main character, or end the whole world.
See you later!!

I am such a Classroom of the Elite hater, I couldn’t even finish the first season. It was so pretentious, the main character is bland and nonchalant and way too edgy, the sexual elements were so uncomfortable—and so much more. Ugh.
So, I'm not a huge fan of anime, but my son is! (I'm not cool he reminds me all the time) Anyhoo I sent him this and he liked your review and he's even thinking about joining vocal now! So thank you :) subscribing and will still follow your work but if he joins you'll have one more! ✨🍻🖤
