The Young and the Restless Update: Michael calls in a favor from Victor and resigns
This leaves the Newman patriarch free rein to go after Jack without one holding him back.

Nikki expresses concerns
Friday on The Young and the Restless Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) lunch together at the GCAC. Things take a different turn when Lauren reveals that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) is meeting with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to resign.
Nikki is stunned by the news, and when Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) joins them. The trio discusses how Victor will not allow his lawyer to walk away and may seek revenge.
Lauren and Jack unite
Nikki is so alarmed, she insists Michael can’t do this. Lauren states her opinion that there are plenty of attorneys out there whom Victor can hire to replace him.
Nikki claps back, reminding them that Victor listens to Michael who is instrumental in keeping Victor in check, preventing him from doing unimaginable things. Lauren tells Nikki that things have escalated and Michael can no longer be Victor's conscience and naturally, Jack agrees.
Nikki points out that Victor may go on the attack against Jack, without Michael's intervention, but he tells her he can handle it. He doesn't think Michael should continue working for Victor because of him.

Michael walks out
Meanwhile, Michael shows up at the Newman Ranch, where he and Victor discuss business. Michael then calmly and gently resigns as Victor’s attorney.
Victor doesn’t take him seriously because he has done this before and always returned. Michael explains that he is quitting this time for Lauren and his family. Victor, a shrewd negotiator, tells Michael to name his price if he desires more money, but former DA Baldwin declines.
When this doesn't work, Victor says he won’t take ‘no’ for an answer. The two go back and forth until Michael pleads with Victor not to make this any harder than it already is. He reminds Michael that he is like a son, and says “family doesn’t abandon family!”
Victor demands answers
When that tactic doesn't have the desired results, Victor demands to know the real reason why Michael wants to walk away. Michael points out that Victor is incredible, but his vendetta against Jack is problematic. Michael reminds Victor that he remained with the Newman family in their home when Ian Ward (Ray Wise) held them at gunpoint and refused to leave.
Michael reminds Victor that he told him he owed him one, and he was ready to take him up on the offer. All Michael wants is to be allowed to resign in peace. As he leaves, Nikki returns home and Victor shouts that he doesn't ever want her to mention Michael Baldwin's name again!

Victor's full fury will be unleashed
Nikki showed up home just as Michael was leaving, and Victor declared that he didn’t ever want her to mention Michael Baldwin’s name again! Jack and Diane Abbott (Susan Waters) return to the mansion, where he informs her that Michael walked out on Victor.. Jack says that if Victor fights them, they’ll fight back, but Diane looks troubled.
The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that the feud between the Newmans and the Abbotts will not cease anytime soon, which is troubling to fans who want it to end. Will the next round be started by Jack or Victor? Could it have something to do with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Claire Newman (Hayley Erin)?
Victor, unchecked by Michael, means his full fury will be unleashed. Nikki knows she cannot stop him. Y&R viewers should brace themselves because anything can be expected. Will he allow Michael to go in peace, or will he turn his wrath on the Baldwins?? Stay tuned.
