The Young and the Restless fans wonder: Are Adam and Sally doomed because Mark Grossman and Courtney Hope are dating?

Adam and Sally's fate may have been sealed

Last week on The Young and the Restless Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope was bragging in front of Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E Bregman) and Michael Baldwin ( Christian LeBlanc) that she was about to start a new business that would be very successful. Her personal life, however, leaves much to be desired. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is trying to accept that they will not reunite but he is not dealing well with the rejection.

Nick Newman (Josh Morrow) really cares for the redhead but no one in his family wants him to date her. Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) is outraged and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is planning to remove Sally from the lives of both of his sons. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) have both told Nicholas that he needs to walk away from Sally because she is trouble.

The biggest issue that may affect whether or not Sally reunites with Adam would be the fact that since September rumors have been flying that their portrayers are dating off-screen. Grossman had been in a relationship with Sharon Case who portrays Sharon Newman on The Young and the Restless. For close to 3 years the couple were being photographed together and at one point Case was spotted wearing what looked like a wedding ring.

The future is uncertain for Adam and Sally

Those who watch the CBS soap are wondering if Grossman was the reason Hope's marriage to Chad Duell who plays Michael Corinthos on General Hospital broke up. The answers to who what when where and why may never be revealed regarding Hope, Duell, Grossman, and Case but on-screen some things are pretty predictable.

Fans of The Young and the Restless noticed in September that Grossman had removed images of himself with Case and now there are pictures online of the actor with Hope on vacation in Mexico, with other Y&R cast, and at a wedding. Although viewers like to see reel-time play out in real time the powers that be do not think the same way. If they were going to put Sally and Adam back together they probably will not do so now.

The Young and the Restless did not reunite Sharon and Adam once the couple were dating off-screen and they broke up Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Brytni Sarpy) when they began dating in real life. The Newmans are not going to five Nick any peace over Sally and Morrow said in an interview a while back that he did not see a future for the couple.

The Young and the Restless has been unpredictable lately

There are a number of Genoa City residents who are in between relationships that spoilers have teased might get together with others in town but nothing has worked out. Adam and Sharon were rumored to be falling in love again but they are only friends now. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) has been at one time or another leaning on Adam, Nick, and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) once appeared interested in her ex but now spoilers say she might hook up with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).

One thing that is certain is that Sally cannot go on indefinitely playing the Newman brothers against one another and she blew her chance with Jack Abbott (Peter Bregman). Things could always work out with Sally and Adam but based on the way The Young and the Restless handles couples who date off-screen it's not likely. If Victor uncovers anything on the redhead he will use it to drive a wedge between her and his son. Stay tuned to find out what happens next.
