Who is Aristotle Dumas?

Fans of The Young and the Restless love a good mystery and currently are curious about the as-yet-unseen Aristotle Dumas. Viewers wonder who hides behind the name and if it is a man, woman, or several people working together. Y&R is not giving any hints and speculation is growing.

Viewers have been trying to figure this out, and thee first rumor was that Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) might show up in Genoa City as Dumas. Fans were excited that the actor could return to Y&R, but this didn't work out. Goddard did return to daytime, but he joined the General Hospital cast as Professor Henry Dalton, so he should be crossed off the list.

Billy Flynn, who portrayed Chad DiMera on Days of Our Lives, is joining Y&R in a newly created role, but there has been no news on what character he will portray. Will Flynn be the mystery man, or is there another? Flynn's role has not been identified, which has led many CBS soap fans to suggest he is Dumas, but could this be a smoke screen?

Will Dumas be another Ashton Locke?

This situation is similar to when Ashton Locke (Richard Burgi/Robert Newman) was preceded on the screen by his reputation. There was talk of how powerful and dangerous he was and everyone seemed in awe of him. Y&R viewers heard so much and expected this character to be bigger than life. When he finally arrived in Genoa City, he was not nearly as tough as spoilers promised.

The Young and the Restless just wrapped up the storyline in which Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) turned out to be deceased, and his evil twin Martin was pretending to be the psychiatrist. As some fans suggest, will there be a new story arc about mistaken identity?

When will Aristotle appear, and could he be a formidable opponent for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and/or Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman)? Is it possible that Jack and Victor will put aside their differences and work together to take Dumas down?

Will this be a rehashed storyline?

Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) has an unsettling feeling about Victor Newman's (Eric Braeden) connection to Dumas while Damian Lewis (Jermaine Rivers) is affiliated with but has never seen the man. How is it that so many in Genoa City are concerned about this individual who no one has seen?

The Young and the Restless has been there and done that for decades with new power players showing up in Genoa City only to be bested by Victor. Some opponents have gotten him down but he is never counted out. Aristotle has businesses that have clashed with Victor's so the Newman patriarch realy wants to find this man.

Fans have ideas on Aristotle's identity

There are other sceario's that fans are considering. What if Jack and Diane Abbott (Susan Watros) are working a scheme to take down their enemy and they are Aristotle? It has also been suggested that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John or Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) might be the ones pulling the strings. This mystery probably will be unraveled during May Sweeps but for now no details are known.

Billy Flynn is scheduled to appear in Genoa City in late Spring which could be in the middle or at the end of May sweeps. Until then fans of The Young and the Restless will continue guessing about his character and the identity of Aristole Dumas to learn if they are one and the same. Keep watching for updates, breaking news and spoilers as Flynn and or Dumas's GC debut draws near.
