Necromicon Book, from Evil Dead Saga

Fans of the Evil Dead saga, the deadites, have every reason to celebrate. The classic franchise of the horror genre will create a new movie and it will be called Evil Dead Burn. This story will be directed by Sébastien Vanicek, a talented and transgressive French artist. This movie will be produced by the prestigious filmmaker Sam Raimi, an icon in the horror genre. The company creating the film, Ghost House Pictures, has given Vanicek and Raimi total creative freedom to do what they feel is best for a well-crafted story. The ultimate goal of these artists is for audiences to experience fabulously frightening sensations and enjoy high quality horror.

Vanicek is ready to create the most extreme horror ever imagined and he has already started working to achieve it for the public to enjoy in 2026. It is still too early to reveal the details of the plot, but it is known that it will boast originality and big surprises for fans of the genre. The saga has shown some really twisted edges during all the films developed, but Evil Dead Burn promises to surpass all previous stories. The artists involved are creating new ideas to expand the Evil Dead universe and the film will continue to positively influence film history with unique plots, masterful performances and chilling surprises.

What you need to know before watching Evil Dead Burn

The famous saga begins with Evil Dead (1981), which narrates the adventure of a group of friends who decide to spend a few days in a cabin in the middle of the forest. However, their getaway turns into a nightmare when they discover that the place is a cursed Indian land, which unleashes a series of tragic events. From the beginning, the gore is present, and later installments will not only intensify its presence, but also incorporate elements of black humor and self-parody. The film portrays a group of young people who, by activating a tape recorder with fragments of the Necronomicon, unwittingly release a dreadful evil that lurks in the place.

Evil Dead 2 (1987) begins with a first ten minutes that offer a summary of the first installment, culminating just as it ended. Ash, the protagonist of this new adventure, is quickly possessed by Evil, although the dark influence does not last long, as the sunlight appears and drives away the evil spirits. Thus, Ash is forced to face the horrors lurking in the forest alone. Bruce Campbell, in his iconic role as Ash, shines as a true showman, battling the dancing, decapitated corpse of his girlfriend, enduring the taunts of the cabin that seems to laugh at him, and facing his own possessed hand in a scene that has become legendary and has been imitated numerous times. The film's denouement is one of the funniest and most surprising ever seen.

In the third installment of the saga, Army of Darkness (1992) Ash is transported to the year 1300 through a portal created by the Necronomicon. To return to his time, he must retrieve the book, but in his quest he will unleash dark forces. At that point, he will be forced to lead humans in a battle against evil and prevent it from taking over the world.

The film is a fascinating mix of visual effects; in addition to using Introvison, stop-motion techniques were incorporated to bring to life an army of skeletons and miniatures, whose scenes were filmed a month before principal photography.

Fans of the saga were not entirely happy with the final result, as the gore that had characterized the previous installments had been replaced by comedy and action, something unexpected for them. However, with the passage of time, the film has gained a growing number of followers and has conquered the public (mainly thanks to its broadcasting on video and television), being today valued by as many as the other two films in the franchise.
