The Last of Us Season 2 – What to Expect from HBO’s Hit Series

Bella Ramsay (Ellie) and Pedro Pascal (Joel) will reprise their roles in the second season, which will take place a number of years after the first.

After more than a year of waiting, fans of The Last of Us are eagerly awaiting the release of the show's newest season in April. After a highly successful first season, everyone is watching the Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin-created series, and this time around, the standard is somehow much higher. New details on the forthcoming season and the creators' plans beyond it are beginning to surface as the Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey-led series' release date draws closer.

A new trailer was published last weekend, giving fans a preview of what's to come. The teasers of potential plotlines were enough to excite those who were initially introduced to the franchise and ruin fans of the original games. "There's some pretty intense stuff you don't even see in the trailer," Druckmann hinted at the SXSW event (Via Entertainment Weekly).

Joel and Ellie travel around the United States in the first season of the show, demonstrating Druckmann and Mazin's skill as storytellers. However, you will be blown away by the upcoming season. Mazin hinted, "It's crazier — it's a wild roller coaster ride," adding, "We have dug in, and that world is louder and more dangerous." And to be honest, I believe that the upcoming season will be even bigger if we are not canceled."

What to Expect fron Season 2 of The Last of US?

In order to give us a flavor of this post-apocalyptic world and the individuals who survive it, the first season of The Last of Us followed a fairly straight plot. The storylines in the second season will become more intricate, involving both mental and physical suffering. Additionally, the creators hinted that Seraphites and Washington Liberation Front, better known as WLFs, would play a significant role in the next season.

Joel and Ellie's emotional distance from one another will be evident. Fans will be captivated by Dina and Ellie's plot. Abby, another important character, will be introduced this season, but it's unclear how much of her past will be revealed. Pascal as Joel, Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Tommy's wife Maria return for the season's second series. The cast also includes Jeffrey Wright, Catherine O'Hara, Isabel Merced as Dina, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and numerous others.
