From that day onwards the daughters seemed to really understand what was going on, and they all found their inner turn. The perfect combination of the inner and outer turns led to Gita winning the honor of being a national champion.

With the honor came another outer turn in life, and Gita was to receive more formal training at the National Sports Academy of India, but misfortune also crept in.

Gita welcomed a new coach, one who was not as strict as her dad, but seemed more humane. Little did she know that her subtle changes would lead her to the fact that she had suffered ten consecutive first round eliminations in her life.

At this point she thought of her dad, and with his help she found herself again and eventually won the Commonwealth Games.
