We know that Gen V is going to flow right into season 4 of The Boys, which is theoretically going to flow right into the second season of Gen V. Now that really just means that there is a single timeline that both of these shows are operating on. It doesn’t necessarily mean that one is required viewing for the other. So what exactly can we expect the crossover to be like? I am going to go ahead and make some predictions for season 4 of The Boys, and the second season of Gen V and what one might need to know before season 4 of The Boys releases.
Okay so we are picking up within a week of the Gen V finale. Which means the first thing we are probably going to acknowledge is whoever Vought pulls up to the 7. The PR move to cover up The Woods and everything that happened at the university was to pull one of the kids up to the 7. Their cover up ended up being telling the world that Marie, Emma, and Andre were dead and that Cate and Sam were the heroes. So my guess is that either Sam or Cate is going to get pulled up. Most likely Cate as she won’t exactly be competition for Homelander and they are going to round off their appeal by adding a woman. This is probably going to be at least mentioned by Homelander himself,, I think they are going to drag this out a little bit and we might not actually see Sam or Cate get pulled into The Boys cast just yet.
My second prediction is that Butcher is going to try and meet up with the remaining kids. The end credit scene was Butcher discovering the aftermath of The Woods. Now he was probably tipped off by his government friend so 1. He’s either going to try and track down the remaining virus that kills supes. Or 2. He’s going to realize that Vought is lying about who died in the campus rampage and he’s gonna bust these kids out of where they're being held. Now of course he could do both. But I really don’t think they will integrate the plot of Gen V so heavily into season 4 of The Boys. Anything that will be acknowledged from Gen V will be summed up in the first episode and we’ll move on.
Now I do think that the ending of season 4 will wrap up the same way that Gen V did. By the end of The Boys we will have a better idea of what might be in store for Gen V season 2. I think the show was popular enough and that Amazon likes Erik Kripke enough to give him another season if he wants it. My best guess is that season 4 of The Boys will end with Marie, Andre and Cate busting out, Cate being a member of the 7 and Sam being kept on a very short Vought leash.
Like I said I don’t think Gen V is going to be required viewing for The Boys season 4. Just like The Boys was not required viewing for Gen V. These shows will continue to stand on their own as well as feeding each other. That said, these seasons are 8 episodes long, if you can’t be bothered to keep up with 2 shows with 8 episode seasons then maybe you just don’t get to know shit. You could literally binge all of The Boys related content in less then a week. Don’t be a little bitch, just keep up with the show.
