The Adam Project - A Netflix Movie Review
'The Adam Project' is a wild ride that bequeaths viewers to lead a good life.

I never knew that time travel was so confusing. Will I experience this in the future again?
The Adam Project time-traveled onto Netflix in 2022. Adam accidentally crashlands onto earth in 2022. Learning that has traveled into the past, Adam runs into his younger self. Teaming up, the Adams goes on a mission to save the world.
I have not laughed so hard at a movie in a long time. The Adam Project explores the concept of time travel. Movies about time travel are my favorite. Creatively, you can invent a lot of interesting ideas. The Adam Project is a wild ride that bequeaths viewers to lead a good life.
Ryan Reynolds and Walker Scobell had insanely funny chemistry. I really want to know how much improv they did. It’s funny to think what it would be like to interact with yourself from the past. Insulting each other in any way that they can, the Adams teach one another a lesson.
I cannot believe that this was Walker Scobell’s film debut! He was a natural. Reynolds hit the high mark with his trademark comedic timing. He was also wonderful in his dramatic performance. Both Scobell and Reynolds’ did a noteworthy job in their emotional scenes.
More credits include stellar performances driven by Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, Catherine Keener, and Alex Mallari Jr. The cast had a fun time with the sci-fi genre. I am always a big fan of Mark Ruffalo. He challenges himself in each role. Scenes between Reynolds, Scobell, and Ruffalo were the highlights of the film.
The special effects were extremely well done. Deepfake technology was used for one character to de-age them. It was a cool effect. Fight scenes were exciting! They were choreographed very well. The same goes for action sequences. I was on the edge of my seat watching the car chase.
Some aspects of the film reminded me of Star Wars, like the theme music. There are also references to Back to the Future. After some time, The Adam Project was repetitive in its content like time travel themes, fights, and the overall banter between the characters.
Shawn Levy had fun in his direction, especially when working with Reynolds and Scobell. Comedy is landed. It’s all about deliveries. I was cracking up laughing so many times. The Adam Project has fun being what it is. The storyline was developed well, along with action sequences.
With that, the comedy overshadowed the story. The comedy was overdone, mostly in the middle half. The first half is the strongest part of The Adam Project. Takes between Reynolds and Scobell went on a little too long distracting us from the real story. But, the climax is exciting! I noticed some inconsistencies but those factors did not ruin my watch.
The film was also emotional. I was not expecting that. Themes about loss are relatable. The Adam Project really made me think. Suppressing your emotions is not good for you. It’s tough but we need to talk about deceased loved ones instead of thinking about the bad things so you won’t miss them.
Time travel is a fun concept to work with. If you ever did go back in time and meet yourself in the past, what would you say? Think of the conversations you’d have with yourself. Again, this film made me think about how much I have grown in a decade.
I highly recommend that you watch The Adam Project on Netflix with your family and friends. It’s an enjoyable film. Believe me, you’ll be laughing and laughing.
