Goosebumps
Now that it is October, many Halloween media has dropped. I thought I would start with the new Goosebumps series on Hulu. I am a total Goosebumps kid, I used to read the books and my dad, brother and I would all watch the original movies when I was younger. So as someone who is already a fan of the concept I thought we’d check out the new series.

Netflix Review: "The Fall of the House of Usher" (2023)
A new Netflix show has come from one of my favourite directors. The man behind The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and the brilliant Midnight Mass has come back and though his shows are not really true to the source material, because they are awesome, I don't consider it to be a fault. My personal favourite so far has been Midnight Mass and though it will stay in the top spot - there is something about The Fall of the House of Usher which offered it some competition. With the usual suspects as the stars including new members to the team, The Fall of the House of Usher is a perfect modern gothic television show to get people into the Halloween mood.

The Shows That Got Me Through Covid
I feel like we don't talk about the Covid years a lot. I feel like a lot of us have pushed those dark times under the rug and we are just praying that we never have to go through it again. Sometimes, it can be hard to revisit the dark times.

Celebrating Impact: Sir Steve McQueen
I had not heard of Steve McQueen until 2013, yet he had been making waves and establishing his presence at least 20 years before that! But entirely typical of the invisibility of British minorities and their achievement, though he actually WON the Turner Prize for art in 1999, the media focused on another White nominee instead!

Review – Loki Season 2 is Riveting Sci-Fi
The latest phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has not won over many fans. I wrote about why “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” was such a thorough disappointment. I refuse to even think about the third “Guardians of the Galaxy” film, and couldn’t even bother to watch another season of “I Am Groot”; and I’m an MCU fan. I can’t say all this bodes well for “Loki” Season 2.

Captain America: A mess in time
Marvel is known as the bigger enterprise with lack of good sequences for their movies and bad endings, and since their acquisition by Disney, the plot seems to be even worse and less accurate with the original idea. But, none of them was so confusing and weird as the Avengers: Endgame time traveling explanation. It was the biggest superhero battle of cinema, with a script so confusing and lost on its own idea, were the storytelling doesn’t even exist.

Only Murders in the Building Season 3 Review
It’s just like the first two murders - anyone could have done it. Season 3 of Only Murder in the Building arrived on Hulu in 2023. There has been yet another murder, this time of an actor in Oliver’s Broadway show. A wave of arguments and disagreements occur between the trio of amateur sleuths. They’ll need to work this out quickly just like how swift opening night is approaching.
