Movie Review: 'Gringo'
Harold (David Oyelowo) hasn’t had things easy in his relatively young life. Despite his pretty wife and his mid-level corporate stooge job, he’s been stepped on every step of the way for being the kind of nice guy chump that people take advantage of. He’s the perfect best friend for Richard (Joel Edgerton), a cocky, sleazy corporate raider in need of a yes man like Harold who’s easily manipulated.

Movie Review: 'A Wrinkle in Time'
A Wrinkle in Time is a genuine delight. Wonderful characters, genuine laughs, and gorgeous visuals make for one of the best family adventures in a very long time. Director Ava DuVernay has taken the beloved bestselling book by Madeleine L’Engle and crafted a genuine blockbuster that retains the inspiring heart of its beloved source material. DuVernay has also discovered a brand new movie star in young Storm Reid.

TV Review: 'Atlanta' Robbin Season Episode 2
Paper Boi experiences Robbin Season up close and personal while Earn comes into some money in Season 2 Episode 2 of the FX hit series Atlanta. Fresh off of his house arrest, Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) is eager to find some good weed. Unfortunately, his new found fame means that even his long time dealer assumes he has a lot of money and thus we get the theme of this season of Atlanta, Robbin’ Season as Paper Boi is robbed at gunpoint and doesn’t even come away with something to smoke for his trouble.

Just Grubbin Series: 'Black Panther' Review
I've re-written this review about three times because I'm having so much trouble reviewing the movie while highlighting the socio-cultural context it takes place in. Let me just get this out of the way though; watching Black Panther was the happiest I've ever been watching a movie. As a black man in America, this movie shared with us a view of pan-African futurism I didn't even know I wanted. Black folk living their best lives, unencumbered by the history of oppression and systemic racism and classism the rest of the world has to deal with, Black Panther offers up a post-scarcity techno-utopia that I think is very much within our actual grasp if we could find it within ourselves to actually try for it. It's not without flaws. It's not the best film I've seen. But what it made me feel and let black and brown people the world over experience is something extraordinary.

Movie Review: 'Death Wish'
I went into Eli Roth’s remake of Charles Bronson’s Death Wish expecting to come out angry and ready for a fight. I was expecting to be offended and spend some time writing about the poor timing of a film release that deifies the gun industry just days after the deaths of high school students in Parkland, Florida. I do have some of that righteous indignation built up in my mind but the reality of Death Wish is so boring I can barely stir up the outrage to pan it.

'Murder on the Orient Express' (2017)
Voila. We Belgians can also be proud of the Hercule Poirot phenomenon in addition to our world-famous beers and chocolate. Probably the best detective in the world, and yes, he comes from this tiny country in Europe. The fact that he's actually a fictional person created by Agatha Christie we forget for a moment. This vain, anything-but-modest, equipped with an enormous mustache, ingenious Belgian detective has already been played by a whole series of actors, but for me, it's David Suchet who lived up to the most to the image of Poirot.

Red Sparrow is a lurid, trashy, and violent spy thriller in which Jennifer Lawrence stars as a ballet dancer turned sexy spy. If you are going to enjoy Red Sparrow, you need to make sure you are in the proper mindset. If you go in expecting a classy spy thriller, you may find yourself disappointed; Red Sparrow is a frightful and tawdry spy thriller brimming with violence, torture, and sex.

Eli Roth's Death Wish remake recently came out. I saw the trailer, saw Bruce Willis in it, being the badass he always is, and knew that I had to watch this movie, even though I didn't watch the original.

'Black Panther' Review
Hayden's Overall Grade: A The newest installment in the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe has arrived to theaters and it's called Black Panther. This movie was really exciting for Marvel as it has the first black actor to lead a movie in their slate. This a huge deal for Marvel as they had been criticized for being too straight-laced with their acting choices. With Avengers Infinity War gearing up in just a few months, I feel like Black Panther was flying under the radar on how well it would do. Well don't worry Panther fans because this movie delivered on all accounts.
