My Review of "Locked Down"
Locked Down is one of the newest movies of 2021 to explain our 2020 experience. It's one of the few big releases from HBO Max. In a sense the antics and realities in this movie feel all too real but that's part of the problem. We're still in lockdown and we kind of don't really want to be reminded that we're in lockdown if we're trying to escape into some fantasy. Or maybe the execution of this movie was far from what I was expecting.

Anastasia - A Movie Review
Life is full of choices. Anything is possible. Anastasia was released to theaters in 1997. Loosely based on the events of the attack on the Russian Dowager empire, Anastasia loses her memory. Years later, joining two con men, they attempt to reunite her with her grandmother, the royal empress.

My Review of "Kickin' It Old School"
Kickin' It Old School came out back in 2007. It's a fun idea that could work in theory but the execution of the whole film made me a little queasy. There are a ton of wrong in this movie, namely corniness and bad acting. By today's standards this movie would require a ton of editing because there is so many social norms of today that would not allow this film from being released.

The True History behind The Secret of NIMH
The 1982 animated film The Secret of NIMH tells a complex story, which weaves together a dark web of experiments, violence, fabricated plot, and drama. Following field mouse Mrs. Brisby, we are shown harrowing depictions of villainous figures she must face and are introduced to the rats of NIMH. What grounds this story in reality are the experiments done on the rats in the National Institute of Mental Health, which exists in both the film and the real world. The research was conducted by Dr. John Calhoun, and is partially shown in The Secret of NIMH. The twisted history of these findings composed into an animated movie marketed toward children make for a tangled web of plot, philosophy, and history all compressed into an interesting amalgamation.

Color Rush
Although it can be found in the English-speaking countries, Asian countries have established reputations as producers of BL content. If you don't know what BL is or means, it stands for boys love. So, yes, it's LGTBQ in nature but, more often that not, is simply 2 young men realizing that the person meant for them has the same gender and the sharing of a long and relieved hug or the type of kiss Asian romances usually favor, BL or not. This means lips make contact but mouths don't move, upper body might make contact but lower does not, one person's hands touch the other person but the second person's don't, and often, as the realization comes as a shock to the other person, the eyes are wide open in a shocked expression and either remain that way or slowly close in acceptance.

Tandav(2021, Season 1)- Review
Tandav is a political drama centring on the controlling party of India lead by Devki Nandan (Tigmanshu Dhulia) the three time prime minister of India, en-route to win the latest election and retain his seat for the fourth time. His son Samar Pratap Singh (Saif Ali Khan) full of ambition and vigour aspires to one day take his fathers place. Devki has a lot of experience and is entrusted by his party and has very close relationship to its members, Gopal Das Munshi (Kumud Mishra) & Anuradha Kishore (Dimple Kapadia) in particular. The series takes the viewers through the wild ride that is to come after the party wins the election as expected. Along with showing the highest pedestal of politics it also delves into student politics with showcasing the student presidential election of a university in Delhi, which houses among it Shiva Shekhar (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) a student with no desire to get his hands dirty with politics, but still finds himself at the center of it. It is a tale portraying the brutal & gruelling reality of politics, its participants and the abhorring acts they choose to employ in order to fulfil their desire to be in power.

My Review of "Wandavision: Episodes 1 and 2"
Wandavision Episodes 1 and 2 have recently come out on Disney Plus. It's a highly anticipated series since the Marvel universe has been pretty quiet for a good year now because of the pandemic. Disney you have to keep your fans happy or else you'll start to lose the hype that you guys had with End Game. There was the new Spiderman movie but that was a while ago.

My Review of "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids"
Honey, I Shrunk The Kids is a family friendly movie that came out back in 1989. I remember loving this movie back in the day. Seeing it now brought back tons of nostalgia and reminded me of all the fads of the 80's. Even more surprising to me was the way that this movie was made. There was a ton of practical effects in this movie that are pretty impressive even by today's standards.

My Review of "Chris Rock: Total Blackout"
Chris Rock: Total Blackout came out as a new 2021 Netflix exclusive standup special. The thing is, it's not necessarily a new standup special. It's actually an extended version of Chris Rock: Tambourine. That special came out back in 2018. I could have swore I reviewed that special but it was probably before I came onto Vocal Media. It had a lot of insightful thoughts that are quite controversial in today's climate.
