My Review of "Dune (2021)"
Dune (2021) is the first part of a hopefully 2 part series. It is a very long movie but it is epic! The tone and pace of this movie are spot on and it kind of feels like this generation's Lord of the Rings. In some ways my review of this movie is probably heavily influenced since I reviewed Dune (1984) about 2 years ago.

My Review of "Space Jam: A New Legacy"
Space Jam: A New Legacy is a movie that's been talked about for quite some time. I haven't had the chance to check it out until recently and I can see where everyone is coming from. On one hand we have all of these people that fondly remember the original Space Jam and then we have the new generation that have never seen the original. This movie tries to appeal to everyone but most importantly it appeals to children.

Dune. Top Story - October 2021.
Dune has seen a few adaptations on the big and small screen as of now as it's source content has had a profound impact on science fiction stories ever since it's publication. It was one of the first of it's kind to introduce themes of religion and human control over ecology into the narrative, as at that time, authors thought that in futuristic all those ideals would be gone. As for this iteration, Denis Villeneuve's adaptation nails it's source content beautifully even while only telling half the story. It speaks volumes about Villeneuve as a director as well as the entire cast and crew. There is plenty of passion and understanding behind this adaptation. To those that don't have any kind of knowledge of the source content, the opening thirty minutes may be a hard watch as a lot of world building is being thrown hastily at you, but through the wonderful talents of Villeneuve and the entire cast you are completely immersed in this beautiful tale.

The Social Network Subtitle: The Story Of Mark Zuckerberg
In 30 years, it’s interesting to see a film about an event created by a changing youth with this kind of impact on everyday life, and I have to say it’s important to know a little bit about the historical accuracy of social media, so I was surprised (and, I would add, not a little shocked). I’m not sure why I liked the name, but when you watch this film you can see that this is not just a story about the founding of Facebook; it is a story of friendship, a desire for prominence, betrayal, and learning about the character of an attractive person who works, and it is just the way an online social network has been set up uncontrollably, putting his relationship with his best friend and business partner at risk. In the final scene of the film, Mark tricks his co-workers into seeking his place on a public totem pole, then returns to the same Facebook profile to see if he has accepted his friend request.

The Voyeurs
There are so many life lessons that me and anyone else can learn just from this film. This movie is a perfect example of how being nosy and not staying out of people's business can actually have an effect on your life to come crashing down right before your eyes. The cinematography for this movie is incredible no doubt. They used their budget very well for this and I really appreciate that. The plot of this movie looks like it belongs in a book which I wished it had been originally and this movie could have been the adaptation of it. Trust me, I've read many books to know this. There was some twists and turns in this movie that left me speechless and confused at the same time and some things that didn't make some sense to me and I know it's just a movie but come on now. I will agree that Seb and Julia went to far to enact their revenge on Pippa for spying on them through their window by exposing her body at Seb's art gallery and killing her boyfriend and framing his death to make it look like a suicide (all they had to do was confront her like adults and let her know what's up since they already knew where she lived at) because what the hell did they expect? Living in an apartment with no curtains on your windows can give anyone an idea to start spying on you and watching everything that you do and they weren't the only ones who we as the audience can see through their windows either. Was Seb really cheating on Julia or was he just doing it because at the time, he knew Pippa was watching him? That was the biggest thing that left me confused from this movie and how in the hell did Pippa get their bodies from out of her workplace and back into their apartment? I couldn't believe Pippa actually stood there in Seb and Julia and played the victim. She really had herself convinced that she was not the roof of all this like sweetheart you are. You listened to your boyfriend when he kept telling you to stop snooping on them in the window. The best friend made me so mad when she straight up LIED to Pippa's face about how what happened was not her fault like seriously what kind of friend does that? That had to be some kind of mistake of dialogue in the script because there's no way a friend in real life would something like that?! Pippa was concerned about doing the right thing. She wanted a piece of Seb her damn self and when she followed him into the bar and went with him to their apartment and had sex with him on their couch, she became one of his honeys. Honeys is a term I use for women that men bring in and out of his bed. Something that I created from the top of my head. Anyway, Sidney Sweeney just can't be taken seriously as an adult. It's the way her body is shaped and the height she is. When I watched that love scene between her character Pippa and Seb, it made me a little bit uncomfortable inside. It was like he was screwing a kid. I know it's awful of me to even think of it that way. You guys must think I'm a little weird for that but that's how I felt watching that scene. Please forgive me Sidney. Even the actress Kate Mara. She might not look like a kid but she definitely looks like a teenager. Overall, I think the plot was pretty decent and good way for Sidney to start off with. She made a great choice choosing to be in this film.

'The Last Duel' Review—Gripping Historical Drama
Ridley Scott, the master behind films such as Alien, Blade Runner, and The Martian, has two new movies in 2021. Before we see the scandalous real-life story of House of Gucci, Scott has another story to tell based on true events. The Last Duel is a historical drama that follows the last legally sanctioned duel in France's history as Marguerite de Carrouges (Jodie Comer) claims to have been raped by Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver). Her husband, Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon), challenges Le Gris to trial by combat, where if Jean loses, Marguerite will be executed.

Why You Should Watch Squid Game!
If there is one show that the world is talking about right now, it is Squid Game. It‘s currently one of the most watched shows on Netflix and it’s made a huge impact on the internet. As soon as I saw somebody reccomend it on Facebook, I watched the trailer and thought, this is a show that I need to watch. I just knew from the moment I saw the trailer that I would love the show and it’s characters. It seems I am not alone either and that millions are loving this show as well.

Squid Game doesn't deserve to be this popular.
Squid Game is the show that took the world by storm when it launched this September, and it quickly became the most popular show on Netflix. It is regarded as a masterpiece by a lot of voices, but that title seems to be thrown around too easily nowadays. The reasons for its popularity are many, such as it being really accessible to non-english speakers and producing a lot of memes. However, an above average content quality isn't one of them. Here's why:

Remember When South Park Wrote An Episode About Us?
Yeah, I know it’s based on Yelp and was made before Vocal’s creation, but a lot of it reminds me so much of the culture of influencers today. This is the episode where Eric Cartman considers himself to be a top online critic for the website, Yelp! However, so does the majority of the South Park population. The way they get so absorbed and obsessed with writing their reviews, believing that thousands upon thousands are counting on their content makes me think South Park has slipped out of satire and represented modern life.

School of Rock Review
Check out my original review on my Letterboxd profile here to check out a Spotify playlist I made for this film. Before we get started... it's been a while, huh? Almost a month, in fact. Well, yeah, I've been busy with college and haven't had the time to watch a movie for a while. That being said, I've been trying to watch a certain TV show that is available to review on Letterboxd and have gotten about halfway through it, but I need to motivate myself to continue it because of everything else going on in school. Heck, it's been a while since I've been able to motivate myself to watch a movie, let alone a TV show. I'll review that show sometime before the end of the year if I get my way, but for now, let's talk about this film.
