My Review of "Only Murders in the Building: Season One"
Only Murders in the Building: Season One was released in 2021. I know I'm a bit late to the show for this one but at least I actually get to realize how good this show is. This is a show that's been on my radar for quite a while because it was getting some good publicity. Unfortunately I wasn't really into murder mystery shows even though this was a comedy. That is until I saw Knives Out and its sequel Glass Onion. I had to check this one out right after.

My Review of "Crazy, Stupid, Love"
Crazy, Stupid, Love came out back in 2011. It's hard to think that it's already over a decade old. A lot has changed over a decade and with that social norms have also been modified. There are a few things in this movie that will trigger a lot of people. Those that aren't into those type of things can have a good time with it though.

The Menu
The Menu was truly one of my most anticipated films of 2022, and then we didn’t get to go see it in theaters. So though I was disappointed that I had to watch it on HBO Max I am glad that I finally got to see it. The trailer depicted what seemed to be a satire with the message of “eat the rich” a theme that made it a must watch for us. After watching the film, it was definitely a satire, just not truly the “eat the rich” kind, more like eat the overly intellectual. Which is part of the reason watching people on the internet analyze it to death is hilarious. There really wasn't that much to analyze and that's what I appreciated most about it, it was very straight forward.

Scarlet Witch
Now that the MCU has finally discovered (and wasted) the power of Scarlet Witch the comic book world has caught back up. Her newest solo series is releasing and the world will hopefully get to see the power of the Scarlet Witch again. As far as we know this is going to be an ongoing series, the first granted to miss Wanda Maximoff. Up until now she has only received a limited solo run and a joint solo series with The Vision. We could certainly talk about why it took so long for Wanda to finally get her own ongoing series but I feel like we all know the answer already.

A Man Called Otto
So as I’ve been saying, my husband and I have been catching up on movies from the end of 2022. This weekend's pick was A Man Called Otto. Now I will admit that the trailer looked cute but initial impressions didn’t wow me, we saw it because I will see anything with Tom Hanks in it. That said Tom Hanks was an incredible casting choice and this was such an amazing role for him. He plays a great grumpy old man.

The Pale Blue Eye
Taking advantage of a slower, more thoughtful pace can add a great amount of depth to murder mysteries; the latest entry from the genre is The Pale Blue Eye, a historical piece with ties in with a major American writer. Not every element fits into the puzzle perfectly, but it does offer an interesting tale.

Review of 'The Last Huntress'
Alice Daniels has a problem. Her reflection keeps misbehaving when she looks in the mirror—and the longer she ignores it, the harder it tries to get her attention. On her eighteenth birthday, she learns why: she is a huntress, someone gifted with the power to enter mirrors and the magical world that exists beyond. But with this power comes immense responsibility, for in the Mirror Realm lurks an evil that has infected the human race for centuries: demons. It is up to her and her three huntress sisters—with the help of one handsome and overbearing protector—to hunt and banish this evil one demon at a time, thereby keeping the chaos in check. But when an ancient god pays Alice a visit that turns deadly, it is clear the Mirror Realm is more than it seems, and she soon finds herself in a race against time to save the life—and soul—of the one man the gods are determined to never let her have. The Last Huntress is a story of redemption and sacrifice, the bonds of true sisterhood, and the impossible, sometimes frightening, things we’ll do for love.
