The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) Movie Review
Aaron Sorkin’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7” is a timely and accomplished ensemble piece that aims to spark conversation about the events of the 1960s and how far the country has come since then. The film introduces viewers to the key players of the trial of the Chicago 7, who traveled to the city to protest the Vietnam War during the Democratic National Convention. The film’s powerhouse cast, including Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Frank Langella, relish the opportunity to chew on Sorkin’s timely and provocative language. However, the film falls short in some areas due to Sorkin’s direction, which is too polished and lacks the emotional impact that the story deserves.

The school life-evergreen days.
When the flowers are at the budding stage, it is the day to explore and express the world. We were conscious about that, at that young age, we knew everything. A horn noise could be heard in front of the home. While his mother rushed ahead of him carrying a lunch bag, he trailed behind with a school backpack that weighed two times as much as she did. Every item was brand new, including the belt, shoes, socks, and outfit. It makes sense that he knew it wouldn't last even a day. He had the idea that he had crossed an ocean and was taking the next step, which was entering the eleventh grade. The principal stood by the gate in place of the watchman, verifying the dress code (such as identification cards, belts, ties, and double-cropped pants) rather than unlocking the gate. Because it was just one day, either the principal was understanding, or the student was acting perfectly. Everyone arrived here with a dream in mind. More people want to study to improve themselves. There is no particular intention here; some people have big dreams in sports, while others want to be renowned in other ways, and yet others want to be married this year. They were traveling in the direction they believed to be the permanent one while doing so. Everyone who arrived prayed to God while looking at the sky before entering the classroom.

Review of 'The Silence that Binds Us'
Maybelline Chen isn’t the Chinese Taiwanese American daughter her mother expects her to be. May prefers hoodies over dresses and wants to become a writer. When asked, her mom can’t come up with one specific reason for why she's proud of her only daughter. May’s beloved brother, Danny, on the other hand, has just been admitted to Princeton. But Danny secretly struggles with depression, and when he dies by suicide, May's world is shattered. In the aftermath, racist accusations are hurled against May's parents for putting too much “pressure” on him. May’s father tells her to keep her head down. Instead, May challenges these ugly stereotypes through her writing. Yet the consequences of speaking out run much deeper than anyone could foresee. Who gets to tell our stories, and who gets silenced? It’s up to May to take back the narrative. Joanna Ho masterfully explores timely themes of mental health, racism, and classism.
