My Review of "Miss Congeniality"
Miss Congeniality is a fish out of water movie that came out back in 2000. A lot has changed since then. Our viewpoint with women and feminism has changed as long as work atmosphere. That's why it's kind of weird to see how wildly inappropriate a lot of this movie is. To be fair some of this stuff was very inappropriate back in the day but it's just much more apparent now than back then.

My Review of "From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)"
From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) was a horror classic for me when it first came out. I absolutely loved it but I was a teenage boy back then and now as an older man I have to reevaluate if it really was as good as I remembered it. This is one of those movies that I thought would stand the test of time but I was humbled after watching this. I definitely watched it with a little nostalgia but even the nostalgia couldn't make me love it like I used to.

Elemental
Elemental is a movie that I have been looking forward to for a while. I thought the trailer looked really cute and honestly Pixar has yet to let me down. I know there was a lot of talk about the animation style when it was first released but I think it really fits the story that the movie is trying to tell.

Haunting of Hill House
Okay so we know that I love scary movies and I watch a lot of them. But there has been this trend, specifically on Netflix lately of scary TV shows. None of which I have ever really gotten into. I just never sat down long enough to get through one of them. I would argue that this trend started with the release of the Haunting of Hill House. I remember living with girls at the time that absolutely loved it and I had only seen glimpses but never the whole show. Well we recently started watching it and I have to say I understand the fixation.

Gen V
Okay so last week in Gen V we dealt with our main characters being mind wiped and not knowing what was going on. They also just found out that Cate is the one behind their memory lapses. Andre is very hurt (as he should be) and Cate seems to have switched sides so that she stands with her friends now.

Fast and Furious
I feel like I’ve been watching these movies for 10 years trying to get to the first one. So we are about to rapid fire these last four. Keeping the chronology straight, or trying to, has been some batshit insane shit to try and do because absolutely nothing about these movies makes sense.

Dating Shows
Netflix has exploded with the amount of reality content that they have been cranking out and none of it is good. However a lot of it is super messy and isn’t that what we all want from our reality tv? Reality takes no brain cells to consume or produce and that is why there is so much of it. Netflix and other streaming services can produce reality tv for basically nothing and they always find people who need just the most therapy making the season of whatever it is very entertaining for those of us that have done the therapy. So here we go, the worst (but best) reality tv shows from Netflix.

My Review of "Beckham"
Beckham is an exclusive biography series released on Netflix in 2023. It's something that I wasn't really looking forward to but was pleasantly surprised when I actually watched it. I don't know that much about David Beckham but I have heard about him. There's very few people that don't know who he is and that' even explained in the series.

Killers of the Flower Moon
With many crime film hits through the decades, Martin Scorsese has often set the rules for the genre. The formula often involves fast-talking, violent mobsters breaking in and out of the criminal underworld. He returns to more historical trappings with Killers of the Flower Moon, another excellent production that embraces both heritage and a more emotive tone.

My Review of "Ahsoka: Season One"
Ahsoka: Season One has been released exclusively on Disney Plus. It's a TV show that's a continuation of another cartoon series that I have never seen. Of course me being naive, I thought that I could simply just get into it since I've seen the other Star Wars movies. This couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, there are some pretty cool moments in this show but I was constantly feeling like I was missing something as I was watching the show.

I Watched K-Dramas for the First Time in My Life
I’ve known for a long time that K-dramas ruled the world of romantic storytelling. Yet, I was not prepared to be sucked into a whole new world where I willingly choose to experience the rollercoaster of emotions these series have to offer. Personally, romance has never been something I enjoyed watching. Unlike many people in my life, I find romantic comedies, dramas, etc. very overplayed and predictable. I’ve probably only watched a handful of romantic comedies in my twenty-some years of life, and none of those have sucked me into the genre… but then came K-dramas. I finally decided to give K-dramas a chance when my dead old dad decided to watch one himself. He does enjoy stuff like that, he is constantly watching telenovelas and dramas to kill time. One random day, he decided to put one on while we were in the living room and that was when my perspective on the romantic genre changed. At least in the realm of K-dramas.
