Kahhori: From Tesseract's Touch to a Star of the MCU's Multiverse
The multiverse exploded with color and chaos in December 2023, as Marvel's What If…? season 2 unleashed a kaleidoscope of alternate realities and a brand-new hero unlike any we've seen before. Kahhori, a Mohawk woman born from the fertile imagination of Marvel Studios itself, emerged not just as a powerful addition to the animated landscape, but as a potential game-changer for the entire MCU.

Anyone But You
2023 is ending with one of the best rom coms of all time, Anyone But You. Now the first thing I have to say about this movie is fire the marketing team. When I first saw the trailer I wanted to see it because I like rom coms and Sydney Sweeney is hot. However there was nothing that even vaguely indicated that this romantic comedy was a Shakespeare adaptation. Literally the best romantic comedies of all time are Shakespeare adaptations and this movie is no different. Anyone But You beautifully adapts Much Ado About Nothing in a modern and entertaining way.

My Review of "Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer"
Dave Chappelle: The Dreamer launched on December 31st 2023. What an interesting time to launch this comedy special. It's made to be the first controversial topic of everyone's talking point for 2024. This comedy special had pretty much everything any Dave Chappelle fans would come to expect from his special. He threw all of the jokes at us and I think most of them hit.

Poor Things
Poor Things starring Emma Stone was released at the end of December and it reminds us that film should be creative and a little bit weird. The movie takes risks and gives the audience a visually interesting exploration of humanity. Emma Stone delivers an Oscar winning performance and Mark Ruffalo delivers one of his most entertaining performances to date. Poor Things is sure to get the academy’s attention come nomination day and I can’t wait to see it receive recognition.

The Iron Claw
The Iron Claw finally has made its way to the big screen and it is easily one of the most amazing and upsetting movies of the year. The casting was incredible and the story is hauntingly accurate. The Iron Claw will probably be overlooked by the academy come Oscar nomination time, but that would be a mistake. The Iron Claw is seriously an incredible and emotionally gut wrenching movie. If you like family stories that might send you into a depression spiral or it might have you calling your siblings crying then this is for you.

Top 10 Lifetime Villainesses of 2023 (Part 2: The Top 5)
I'm going to admit something: deciding who would be part of the first half of the year-end top 10 list this year was quite difficult. 2023 gave us a lot of very delicious villainesses on Lifetime's networks, and deciding who would be in the first half of that list wasn't easy, but it was done, and the list can be found here. Now, while deciding the first half was hard, the top 5 wasn't. As early as the beginning of fall, I had my top 5 cemented. These villainesses were truly the best of the best in 2023, and I'm still beaming over how delicious and epic they were!

Top 10 Lifetime Villainesses of 2023 (Part 1: #10 - #6)
Can you believe this is Year Three of this list on Vocal? Seems like yesterday that I first did this. This year's gave us some very delicious villainesses, including a number of actresses finally entering the dark side of a Lifetime movie for the first time. Here's how this list has evolved already. Two years ago, it was only villainesses from Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network. Last year, I decided to mix it up and add some baddies from Lifetime Movie Club and Tubi, because the latter's thrillers are basically Lifetime movies. For this year, I gave Tubi their own list (click here for that story), but this list will still feature the best villainesses from Lifetime, Lifetime Movie Network, and Lifetime Movie Club. This was a hell of a year for Lifetime villainesses, and I truly enjoyed it.

My Review of "Godzilla Minus One"
Godzilla Minus One is the latest Godzilla movie to come out in 2023. It's not the Godzilla that we know in North America though. This is a Japanese Godzilla movie. Yes the nation that started Godzilla in the first place. Going into this movie I was expecting something similar to the ones that we got from Hollywood but boy was I wrong on that assumption.
